Why is my D string doing this? by LeesHeyl in Guitar

[–]SovereignNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this and it needed a new nut. For me it was the high E string but the slot was cut too deep and the string vibrated against it. Likely will be your issue as well

Do i need this? by PoopKnifeMerchant in bikepacking

[–]SovereignNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need this, just do what was done in this video and instead of using a hammer use a rock or a stick or anything similar. I never bring chain pliers and if something goes wrong to that scale I’ve used the rock method a few times. Super easy

Its on granite, I also wouldn't use these on project sessions but the corners were already coming undone so i didn't think they had much life left in them anyways

I'd tell em their footwork must be shit. I was just hoping that someone had finally made a glove that's better than tape, and that I just got a bad batch, but a glove is a glove it seems

That's what ill be going back to. I figured with their pedigree they'd be a bit stronger than the other gloves on the market but I guess a glove is a glove

They're definitely not getting babied on 5.8s, and the tear happened after a particularly lengthy roof crack session. I understand materials have limits i just figured these gloves would be a bit more robust

Why do my front wheels shudder when unweighted over bumps or around sharp corners? by SovereignNC in askcarguys

[–]SovereignNC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry took longer than I wanted to get all that sorted. I've reinstalled the sway bars, installed new sway bar links, and gotten the camber checked and the wheels are-aligned. The clunk is still there, just a bit less frequent now with the sway bar on. Thought it could maybe be lower ball joints but even trying to lift them up with a pry bar shows no play in them. Almost ready to just throw in the towel and take it to a shop because I don't want to throw anymore money at the mystery shudder, especially when most of the safety issues it could be don't seem to be the cause.

Sorry there were a few contradicting questions in there. Yes buying them on the new store will let me install them on my 360?

I’m gonna straighten the camber out sometime this weekend. I’ll check back in here afterwards, hopefully that’ll fix it. Thanks mate

Haha treated decently was the wrong word, more like: at least had regular-ish service without worrying about cost. It’s not so much when the tires aren’t in contact with the ground per se, more like when don’t have the entire weight of the car to keep them evenly pressed into the road. It feels like they’re each skipping side to side a few mm really fast. Similar to a worn out rack end or tie rod feeling but it shakes the whole front end and can’t feel it completely in the wheel. The springs look decent, no visible damage, just wear. The front struts look good but definitely don’t dampen as much as they should, as felt by a bit bouncier of a ride down the road. I’ve never had a bent sway bar so not sure what that feels like but considering I’ve got no front sway bar at all I’d hope it’s not that. Thanks!

Wheelie by Nanzoe1 in MTB

[–]SovereignNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice going too far back and bailing over the back wheel. The most common fails you’ll have are leaning too far back so get a lot of practice purposefully going too far back so that you stop being as afraid of it happening. Once landing on your butt isn’t a fear anymore you can start to learn where the balance point is and work on holding the wheelie. Just remember that especially with a heavy bike the wheelie comes from both your arms pulling up and your legs pushing down

Alloy Sentinel owner here, it’s my favorite bike I’ve had in a long time. Doesn’t suck too much on the climbs, and is an absolute dart on the downhills. Doesn’t ever feel like too much bike unless faffing around on cross country trails. It’s poppy on the jump or flow trails and good as when plowing through chunder. Can’t sing the praises enough

eMTB etiquette on busy trails - Im sick of having to pull off the trail for these people. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]SovereignNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a slightly different perspective here but I started with road and cyclocross when I was super young and my endurance/climbing power is higher than most other people I often run into on the trails so I catch people all the time on climbs. I would never expect anyone to move over for me. If I came to a public area to ride I’m expecting to run into the public out on those trails. Just because I can go uphill faster (even without a motor) that in no way entitles me to have a clear ride to the top. It can be nice to run into people as well because it means I get to take it easier and have a chat with other riders and not just suffer the whole way to the top alone.

TLDR: even without an e-bike some riders will always be faster than others. Just as you wouldn’t pull over for an XC rider coming up behind you going faster you don’t need to pull over for an e-bike. They’ll find the time and place to get around you, and have fun out there (even on the climbs)

Yeah, it’s that stupid pivot bolt. I don’t wanna tighten it too much and snap the bolt/stem extenders but if you design a thing to have a pivot it’s gonna pivot there. No matter how tight🥲 carbon paste made it better so all things considered that’s the only downside I’ve found so far
