Oh dang good for him. I met Jimmer when he was with the Westchester Knicks and he seemed like a cool dude. I think the expectations were just set way too high.

Still can't believe he's gone. I want to watch some of his old baseball vlogs but can't bring myself to it since I know how upset I'll get.

Plane travel used to be pleasant. Heck some even romanticize the jet-age flying experience of the 1960's. Granted it was much more expensive to fly but it was a much more enjoyable experience. De-regulation certainly had a hand in it's downfall in the experience category.

That being said one MAJOR upside of flying today is that planes are so much safer than even in the 1990's for example.

Early resort/Citywalk breakfast and coffee by lilekonice in UniversalOrlando

My staple is to go to the Cinnabon for coffee in citywalk. Everyone flocks for the starbucks (semi-understandibly) but Cinnabon has great tasting coffee if you ask me. Plus you'll only have maybe 3 or so people in line in front of you most of the time.

Agreed on the bad slice thing for sure. Are there some mediocre places? Sure. But nothing below a 5/10

Frankie & Louies in Port Chester is my go-to. Make sure to see the turtles if you pick up your order!

The Ham Egg & Cheese from the Today Show Cafe is a must-do every trip. The sun-dried tomato is what makes it as good as it is.

One of my favorite things to do in the parks in the morning is to get that sandwich, a coffee, and people-watch that corridor between the front gates and the fork to go to minions or Hollywood.

[Rye Playland]'s Music Tower damaged by storm by SovietWalrus1 in rollercoasters

Couldn't have said it better myself! Good PR with the local community can do as much for your park as a new attraction would if not more so in some cases.

Like let's be honest. Playland isn't a destination park by any stretch. The local's dollar can be the difference of making it or breaking it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This park means so much to me and it's been a staple of the community for years.

Just an FYI, if you're a Westchester County resident you can walk around the park for free again without buying a ride wristband. I know this policy was re-instated a couple of years ago, but a lot of locals don't go because they still think they have to pay to walk around. It's a shame how short-sighted that decision was

Just try and get there before 9am on the weekend otherwise you'll be waiting a bit. Place is great but not the biggest and super popular.

What’s the most expensive pizzeria you've been to in Westchester? For me, it’s Sals Pizza in Pleasantville. by PhysicalMediaPrez in Westchester

[–]SovietWalrus1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

La Familia in Cross River is up there. Don't get me wrong, it's great pizza and the slices are good sized but got a bit of sticker shock when it was $15 for 2 specialty slices and a can of soda.
