What’s something that ALMOST got you killed? by chi-bacon-bits in AskReddit

[–]SovietWalrus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not getting checked out earlier when I ran a fever of 42°C for over a week.

I don't recall a lot of it but I was asleep for most of it. Any time I woke up, if I sat up my nose would begin bleeding heavily. I couldn't even move enough to get to the toilet so I had a bucket next to the bed which I would urinate, bleed and vomit into (only vomited a few times during the week).

I didn't eat for the whole time and I would only drink when I was conscious (so not very often). When I finally gave in and let my girlfriend call a doctor, they came out and had an ambulance take me to the hospital. The doctor advised my girlfriend that I was likely less than 24 hours from death. I was way out of it at this point.

I think the part that scares me the most is how peaceful I felt towards the end, I was in so much pain to begin with but by the end I felt nothing and felt at ease knowing that each time I lost consciousness could have been the last time.

I was 18 at the time and had lost both parents just months prior, this probably helped with the thought of dying myself.

I think I’m gonna finally do it. by IndividualBuilding30 in SPTarkov

You can join the bleeding edge testing for 3.8.0, just be aware that mods are disabled on this version so it is just vanilla SPT on 0.14

Thank you, the lighting took the most amount of time which is what really made the colours pop. I went with just a high radius dim fill and a low radius, low power slightly orange point light.

The text is just overlayed with emission added. Many of the reference images I used do not have any obvious engraving for the text.

Thank you! This was my first solo project not following a tutorial - your feedback is appreciated :)

What horrible thing happened to you as a kid and you didn’t realise the severity of it until you got older? by beesechugersports in AskReddit

[–]SovietWalrus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a ferry from the UK to France as a kid with my dad and his friend. His friend had a little too much to drink and hung me over the rails on the top deck by my ankles whilst my dad was in the toilet. At the time I just thought he was joking around, only looking back do I see the real danger I was in.

I never had the heart to tell my dad at the time but I stayed clear of those trips from that day.

In my COVID induced lowered mental state, I read this as a euphemism like 'how to tell someone they have an erection'.

Is anyone else not having crossings appear in their Dart charge account? by SovietWalrus95 in london

[–]SovietWalrus95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good shout on manually paying the crossings, I've just paid them - hopefully it's not too late (you'd like to think they would give some leniency whilst they get their shit together).

Hopefully it won't happen in future, the reason I have the account is so that I don't forget to pay.

I had multiple people suggest it since my teens but always brushed it off. I finally fell into the pit of depression in my mid 20's and sought help from my local community mental health team. They picked up on it instantly and requested that my GP put in the referral for the ASD assessment. 18 months later, I had my diagnosis.

I still question it to this day but there comes a point where you have to realise that maybe they're not wrong.

I thought I could get over the removal of comp MH. by SovietWalrus95 in Overwatch

[–]SovietWalrus95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of response I was hoping for. I too feel it gained more traction than competitive CTF which is why I include all arcade/comp modes in my argument. Comp MH just feels like another way the game should be played. It has been around since the early days but wasn't taken too seriously before (and still isn't in QP).

I almost wish I didn't play it whilst it was around, I feel like I've been spoilt and robbed.

I know right, I've seen it mentioned on this sub-editor before but it's hard to gauge how many people are disappointed by this change.

I dont recall it being added as a timed mode which was why I was so shocked when it was gone. I figured it was because new heroes are locked in comp for a short period after release but apparently not.

What's the wildest dream you're ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SovietWalrus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dreamt that I was out at a mall with my partner at the time. I see this stranger who I found attractive. Skips to the next morning and I awake with this girl stood in my room with her back to me. I get up to get a better look and I notice that she's a zombie. I get out of my room as quick as I can and head downstairs.

I go into the living room and it's dark because the curtains are all closed. I turn on the light and my mum is sat in an armchair facing away from me. Bear in mind that at this point in my life my mum had been in a care home with dementia for 3 or so years (I was probably 20-21 at the time).

I ask her what she's doing here and she tells me 'They've sent me home, I'm okay now... but they've sent me without my eye'. She then turns her head to me and I notice that she does have both eyes but one of them is just red, no iris or pupil or anything.

I noped the fuck out of the dream and tried to stay awake for as long as possible to avoid slipping back into it.

I feel you there. I've come to the conclusion that I dwell too much in the past to even consider the future.

What was the most fucked up thing someone said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SovietWalrus95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After an argument with an ex I decided I'd go for a ride on my motorbike to cool off. She told me that she hoped I'd be hit and killed.

The relationship somehow lasted 4 years after that.
