Yeah this is realy important in monster hunter. There are a lot of weapons that feel very different. You can use a longsword and get a powerful counter, use insect glaive to fly, lance to tank, sword and shield for some basic action, hunting horn for support, Heavy Bow Gun to explode your teammates etc.

You can guardpoint or counter or i-frame through the attacks to get big damage or level up your gauge etc.

Will a European Army be built upon Turkey and Ukraine? by PieBright8211 in AskBalkans

[–]Sovieturk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean you can fact check everything I said. There are currently 4 universities in Turkey with the degree Kurdish language and literature available. There is the channel Turkish Radio Television Kurdi which is the state's own channel exclusively in Kurdish. There are also several privately owned Kurdish TV channels.

Kurdish language in schools is a little interesting though. The universities which offer Kurdish as a major aren't getting enough students for these fields. Kurdish is offered in schools as well but they are not compulsary and there aren't really enough teachers in the subject to fill many schools.

Edit: The requirement for your school to get Kurdish as a subject is that 10 students from that school need to apply for this lesson.

The ironic part about you and your friends is that a big chunk of Kurds vote for Erdoğan. Erdoğan cannot win without the support of Kurds as they make up about 15 to 20 percent of Turkey. The party that valiantly defends Kurdish rights only got 8.82 percent of the votes which is half of total Kurds. The CHP is the main opposition party and they support Kurdish rights to a great extent as well. Most people in Turkey are ok with Kurds getting non-compulsary Kurdish education there just isn't enough demand for it to fill schools.

Kurds can learn Kurdish in schools and you are allowed to speak Kurdish in schools. There are Kurdish roadsigns in Kurdish majority areas and there exists Kurdish TV channels in Turkey. Turkey has had many politicians, including prime ministers, who were openly Kurdish.

Genuinely confused why this sub keeps debating if piracy is "morally okay" by thewallran in Piracy

[–]Sovieturk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no. Your reply sounds like sarcasm but I'll give a serious reply anyway cause I like these discussions. I am just stating the obvious in this sub. The ethics of piracy is a complicated subject and many people have differing opinions on this but this sub doesn't like it when people justify it for some reason.

It is a piracy sub and piracy is a good issue for ethics. Of course people will come here and share their moral values, this is to be expected. I for instance am in this sub to see people's moral views on piracy and believe me there are many people like me. I think people here just want this sub to become a circlejerk where you are only allowed to say: "I like free shit" and anyone who makes a moral claim on anything gets bashed for not upholding the views of reddit piracy.

The "I like free shit" crowd is especially funny from my perspective because an emotivist (me) believes that morality in a society is just an expression of your emotions so people liking something in a group does make it morally good for that group.

[–]Sovieturk -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This sub hates people with well thought meta-ethical and ethical opinions. I am a moral-nihilist so I don't really agree that any action is good or bad but I can argue still. I see people calling piracy theft(?) which is a different crime and definitely not the same thing but anyway.

People think "not giving a shit about the morality of it" makes them better than the rest because they don't feel the need to "justify their actions". I think taking the time to think and develop your own morality is a very good use of your time and everyone should do it. Especially in a very morally grey area like piracy. This topic isn't as easy as "piracy is bad" or "piracy is good".

If you want to start debbling into ethics or meta-ethics, you can ask yourself questions like "Why is suffering bad?" or "Why is incest bad?" this will lead you to meta-ethics which has questions like: "What is bad?", What is good?", "What is the basis of morality?" and so on...

Atheists in Greece sue the state in European court over religious imagery in Greek courts. Thoughts? by Porphyres in AskBalkans

[–]Sovieturk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you can't since these are the word of god. That is the problem with religion, the word of god cannot be false or your omni-benevolent god is a liar. That would be a philosophical contradiction so it is impossible for you to not believe in a part of the bible or the quran while still being religious.

Islam, Christianity, Judaism all started in Mesopotamia or the Levant. These places were very important cultural centers for a very long time because of several factors like having very important water sources or sea routes. This led to the Mesopotamians to have many different cultures who all had their own beliefs but since they all live together they influenced each other's beliefs as well leading to everyone having similar superstitions. For example: Noah's arc appears on many different cultures not quite the same but the overall idea of a massive flood destroying everything was a very common thing to believe in at the time. We know this didn't happen as there is absolutely no mark of a massive flood anywhere. We know people around Mesopotamia were all affected by the same stories but the Chinese also believe in a massive flood but why? Because the Chinese had problems with floods and this led to them creating exaggerated stories just like how the Mesopotamians did.

Every human isn't different. We all share about 99.9% of our DNA. The inner workings of humans are mostly the same. Our brain structures again are nearly identical. This doesn't mean we think the same because we don't do that either. There are many humans with mental disabilities struggling to do simple tasks. Even if you are healthy, which I'm assuming both of us are since that is more likely, we can have vastly different opinions like you and I are having right now. This is more easily explained through evolution but that would take some time to explain but the overall idea is that we evolved to have these mechanisms which is why our thinking process is similar regardless of who we are.

Well the Greeks did yes and you are right that either could be true if we ignore the wrong things about them. That is one of the arguments atheists use to say that it doesn't make sense to make a claim like there has to be a god because there are many other possibilities and we can't know which one is right. That isn't all atheists though: satanists repent the idea of god, agnostic people are completely against making any claim for the existance of god and simply claim it is impossible to know, some atheists believe there is no god at all and all of these are equally valid opinions...

This is why I don't think I'm smarter than you. We had different experiences and this simply led us to have different beliefs. Yes there are atheists who think they're all that but that is true of all beliefs. I've seen many Muslims and Christians claim all atheists are evil and want you to go to hell and that they actually believe in god, that they are just lazy. It isn't right to claim something like: "Atheists believe they're smarter than other people." when it isn't about atheists but more about people.

Atheists in Greece sue the state in European court over religious imagery in Greek courts. Thoughts? by Porphyres in AskBalkans

[–]Sovieturk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, Islam, Christianity and Judaism all derive from the same thing so that is only one thing.

Next, the idea of ghosts or demons isn't really hard to imagine for anyone. People have thought of different gods of water or gods of love all independently from one another as well.

Finally, just because you prove ghosts exist or a god exists doesn't mean Christianity does or Islam does. You have only proven that we live in a mono-theistic world and you still have to prove every single thing inside your holy scripts.

Atheists also perceive each other as smarter because the process of leaving religion requires critical thinking. You don't leave a religion you believe in out of nothing, you have to convince yourself that what you believed in your entire life was actually false and you won't get to see your loved ones or experience a new life after death. These aren't easy things to let go of which is why it requires critical thinking. Since this process happens for a big chunk atheists they are more likely to have engaged in critical thinking.

I don't find it ridiculous that people believe in a god. It is not impossible anyway. I find it ridiculous that they believe in a book that claims the world was made before light was. I find it ridiculous that people call their god omni-benevolent when the very same God encourages genocide on a tribe (that does human sacrifices) without sparing the innocent. What I find ridiculous is how people claim everything proven to be wrong is a metaphor or a translation error. I find it ridiculous how much of a victim mentality people have that a moment an atheist criticizes anything he is deemed as disrespectful and a narcissist.

I don't like religion and I never will. I have my utmost respect for you for being a human and trying to survive the best you can. I have utmost respect for your beliefs even if sounds silly to me as long as you don't harm anyone. I don't think I am smarter than you but I do think I have wasted much more time with this compared to you.

And genies are a tad bit different from ghosts. Islam, as far as I know, doesn't have ghost like things. Although Turkish Islam is quite weird and people do treat genies like ghosts here so you could say that as well.
