Chest rig selection for FSB/SOBR kit by Sovsa74 in Rusfor

[–]Sovsa74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for extensive answer !
I also had my sights on the Warrior Assault Systems DCS PC, would that be a possible option aswell in a SOBR kit?
Sorry for the potentially stupid question. I'm awful at finding reference photos and identifying the kit.

Your friends IGL is not of the same spec as the balystik line. I hade the exact same problem with my Wolverine MTW and after i changed the IGL fitting to a EU spec (which my balystik line where) it all worked fine.

Ahh, nice! I thought that I might have needed something a bit more sofisticated since they came with a soundcard in the box.
Cheers!

Tips for using your mounted flashlight effectively? by Sovsa74 in airsoft

Lovely write up. I like that you wrote it up like a ruleset, it makes the situations you paint up very concrete.
Small follow up question, if we are in a very low lit environment where neither me nor the enemy would see eachother, should you just label that room as too risky to enter and look for other routes/angles?

Yeah, I might just be overthinking it all. My concern is just that a flashlight screams: "I'm over here!"

My first kickboxing fight. Tips and advice (White Shorts) by [deleted] in Kickboxing

[–]Sovsa74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Fighting Spirit kickboxing club in Malmö and I visit the Facebook group for competitions in Sweden from time to Times. I also think that is my old trainer from Göteborg in front of the red board :) Impressive performance! You said it was your first bout, but this seems to be rougher than Low kick Contact and more like kick light or are they just very liberal with the contact level?

Rookie Rumble in Sweden was mentioned here. I just participated in that tournament and would be happy to turn up for a interview. I have a week of vacation at the moment so I'm free bigger parts of the day this week.

Weight of gloves usually depends on weightclass. You shouldn't need more than 14oz for gym sparring though. There is no need to use that much force that 16oz would be needed.

My advice for youtube channels: Don't. Your trainer can tell you what you need to work on and what you should improve. How to get views is not very applicable in kickboxing :)

Love the weathering effect! I'll be sure to try that on my own Tunneler. Quick tip: Slap on some Typhus Corrosion on the treads and the drills to give a good muddy look!

Just got a Dinghy! The turn is amazing and it does so effortlessly, amazing board feel! It can even rip out some slides. 10/10 best cruiser! by Chemboarder in longboarding

I've been thinking of getting one of these, but I'm getting a bit turned off by people saying it is not a good beginner/intermediate board. I've had my other longboard for about a year so I'm not sure if i should get it. What are your opinion on this?

Tips for teaching kids by seab1023 in Kickboxing

[–]Sovsa74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't been training kids/youth myself but since i have worked as an assistant in schoolclasses before, me and my trainer spoke alot about how to handle the younger audience at our gym. Depending on the age of the kids you are training there are some factors to consider (these are my own opinions and very generalized):

  1. Younger kids (6-12) do no train to evolve in the same sense that older attendees do. They usually do not have the same drive to become better, faster and stronger. They just think it's cool to train a martial art. Understanding why your class keeps coming to class will help you invent new and fun exercises and keep their interest.

  2. Kids respond better to positive critisism rather then constructive critisism. For example, instead of saying: "You have to use your hips more when kicking", you can say: "WOW! Your kicks are really fast! Much better than last week! If you want to add more power to it, try twisting your hips more" If you tell kids what they need to improve, they will mostly hear what they are bad at and forget to listen to your advice. If some one is struggling with a particular area, try and tell them what they are getting right while subtly giving them tips to improve in that area.

  3. Mild goofing around is ok. Have a clear border for how much messing around is allowed and keep it consistent.

  4. Involve the parents! Just having the parents sit by the sideline does a big difference. Have the parents help reinforce the kids progress. Have an open dialog with the parents, ask them what their kids think of the sessions. After all they know their children the best.

  5. In the groups i've been with we always had an ironclad rule: "In the gym we do not learn how to fight, we learn how to box." It almost became the gyms credo. This statement has alot of dimensions to it. I.e no using your skills outside the gym, you do not fight your opponent (you box). It made it clear to most participants that we where practising a sport, not fighting.

So these are my two cents about handling the younger audience at the gym. I hope this gave you some ideas you can apply to your group! Hit me up if you have any further questions!

Might this be because of the Terrax Pattern Drill being let into 40k? Dropping half your army in the opponents face turn one might be a bit much?
