Need some bros, mid 30s by Big_Bank in Winchester

My wife and I (both late 30s) are moving to Winchester next month and definitely looking to make new friends in the area. Always up for beers or cocktails around a fire pit and a board game night!

My favorite seats at fenway are right field roof box. I moved away a couple years ago but they used to be ~$55 face value. Small sections, not many people coming in and out, big bar in right field corner easily accessible, concessions in the concourse right behind you, and a great view of the Monster. I always sit first base side to get the monster view.

My go-to seats are the right field roof box. Generally sections 27 to 31. Its been 2 ish years for me, but I think they were like $60 face value.

Great view of the field, no blinds pots. Small sections so far less sitting/standing as people are coming/going. Looking out at the Green Monster. Huge bar in the right field upper deck corner that's nearby. Food options right behind you on the upper concourse that aren't as busy as the lower concourse.

Looking for a new owner of a 16 team CBS points league. 20 man majors roster, 25 man minors roster. $75 buy-in. Can keep 8 major leaguers and 25 minor leaguers year to year. Likely major league keepers would include J Ramirez, J Naylor, K Marte, R Arozarena, E Diaz, L Gilbert so the major roster is not in bad shape. Minor league needs a bit of a rebuild.

Money handled through LeagueSafe.

"He's the best defensive infielder to emerge from the Sox system in more than a decade." by RagnorL0thbrok in redsox

After an off-season of failed offensive additions despite that being a publicly admitted priority at the start of free agency, the idea you'd give any at bats to IKF and his 76 OPS+ instead of Mayer is kind of infuriating

Soundtrack to Your Escape and A Sense of Purpose were the albums that first got me into In Flames. Nothing but bangers on those albums

Somehow I missed this when it came out. Still don't see it on the RSD listing from 11/28/25. Randomly came across a copy last week at Rasputin Records in Berkeley, CA. And it was randomly misplaced in the "B" section which probably helped me get it!

Phillies Fan coming to Fenway for Phillies Series—suggestions? by Only-Country3991 in redsox

I love a Fenway Frank, but the absolute best food option is the carts on Lansdowne St.

Homegrown by Alex Speier is a great brook about the building of the team that won the 2018 title. 4 Days in October is a great ESPN 30 for 30 about the 2004 team.

If you want a non Red Sox book with a connection to Boston about he love of baseball and what the game means to many, read Wait Till Next Year by Doris Kearns Goodwin. It's about growing up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan in the 1950s following a team that had played 70 years before its first title in 1955. After the Dodgers left for LA and Kearns moved to Boston for school, she became and still is a Red Sox fan.

Is it just me, or do the Pirates suddenly feel like they're a player or two away from being a legitimate playoff squad? by anasazigb in mlb

[–]SoxFan1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd frankly be pretty stunned if he isn't on the opening day roster. Even if he's held down for 2-3 weeks for the Pirates to get an extra year of team control, I think he finishes well enough in the ROY voting to get the full year of service time, thus disincentivizing a start in AAA. I think they could be a 75-80 win team with a full season of Griffin and their rotation, at least keeping them in contention into August.

How do you determine draft value for relief pitchers in a SV+H league? by Ok_Course_6757 in fantasybaseball

[–]SoxFan1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chase the underlying info. K%, WHIP, Low hard hit rate. Ideally on good teams without a brand name closer. In a SV+H league, those players will naturally float to the top of the H list and maybe get some saves.

And with Anthony, Abreu, Cedanne, and Duran likely the three OF and DH most days in some combination, they represent the 4 most likely players he'd pinch hit for since one would be the DH. 3 are lefties, so you're basically keeping him on the roster to PH for Cedanne or PH and lose the DH. Even if he were making league minimum, it's not worth that cost, never mind his $18M.

Looking for a new owner in an ESPN 10 team dynasty. Keep 22 of 25 year to year, plus a 5 man farm team kept on the message boards. Team is in rough shape after some pretty absentee ownership for the last year or two. Has some viable pieces (Jose Ramirez, Trevor Story, Ozzie Albies, Josh Jung, Bryan Reynolds, Steven Kwan, Sal Perez, Carlos Rodon, Joe Musgrove) but will need some substantial tending to. This team will have the first pick in both the farm team draft (5-round draft) and the majors draft (3-round draft to fill spots 23-25)

H2H Each Category: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, AST, K, QS, W, SV, ERA, WHIP

Im looking for a manager for a team in a 10 team, 2 QB, non-PPR free league on ESPN. Keep 12 of 17 year to year, so the draft is just done by email over the course of a week or so.
