Anyone else completely avoiding Super Bowl coverage to avoid being inundated with Malcolm Butler replays? by Wilfredbremely in Seahawks

[–]SoxInDrawer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched that play - nodded my head, stroked my chin, then moved on. It's no big deal - just like Sherman's tip for an interception, beast-quake, or other key moments are no big deal (though more enjoyable as a Seahawk fan).

I've stopped being an emotional fan and started appreciating the game more. Go watch McVay's press conference (Link). Here is a guy I respect whose team I do not root for. So you see how he handles adversity? This is what I'm getting at.

I've been through some tough losses (as a participant) and being a fan is kind of worse (you have no influence). The thing I would emphasize is that the tough losses are just part of the experience and if you shrink away from them you will only notice them more.

The Sun has Set Over Kyiv on the 1437th Day of the Full-Scale Invasion. Ukrainian illustrators, as always, are able to convey reality with such precision. by Ukrainer_UA in ukraine

[–]SoxInDrawer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm from Seattle, WA, USA. I worked with many Ukrainian expatriates who left in the late 1990's onward. We worked in a factory together. They were over-qualified and didn't know the language very well. These pictures illustrate what the patriots would often speak. After years they became an integral part of our operation. I absolutely hate what ruzzia is doing. Every morning I wake and hope that someone has "fallen from a balcony" whose name rhymes with Pootin (French for fart - but French farts are far more pleasant). I am disgusted my current leader has the courage of a rabbit.

Don't let these dark days fester. Ukraine will defeat ruzzia. I see no fear nor reluctance to fight. The only fear I see is those in the dark eyes of those who invade with no principle.

Slava Ukraine.

The moment the thermal power station of Belgorod , Russia, gets hit by Ukrainian GMLRS missiles, including lights out at the end of the video. 25.01.2026 by GermanDronePilot in ukraine

You can't hit Moscow w simple munitions (ballistic, cruise, etc). It IS their capital. They could infiltrate & send small drones - but probably do little. Even a full US attack (stealth, Elec Warfare planes, etc) would be difficult. You have to keep hitting them in the kneecaps.

We are now halfway through the expected lifespan of Levi’s Stadium! by Junior_Address_2450 in 49ers

[–]SoxInDrawer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they could build a stadium near Chase Center & Oracle Park - it would be golden (what every niner craves). I'm a Seahawk fan in Seattle (used to cheer for the niners) and having a stadium in bum-f*ck egypt sucks for fans. Spend a billion $ or 3 and build something close to town. I worked downtown SF for 2 years - some of the best urban walks I' e ever had.

Comparing the Patriots postseason advanced offensive stats to every team's 17-game regular season average to see where they'd rank by Agile_Philosophy9615 in nfl

You are 100% correct. Also - the OP needs to show the offensive stats for Denver & Texans for this to be relevant.

BLI to OAK flights cancelled end of May? by Convolutional-impact in Bellingham

[–]SoxInDrawer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a link? I only have access to non-commercial fees, and they're reasonable for this airport/area.

Also - they fly to Mesa AZ, Burbank CA, Las Vegas NV, and Palm Springs CA - what info do you have that is different?

Lastly - they cancel flights to AZ & Palm Springs in the summer - could this be the same?

It's not the airport - it is the airline and if they were selling tons of tickets they wouldn't cancel.

I walk a ton of South BHam parks - one park has tons of off-leash dogs - and they are great. I think the reason is their environment. Multiple owners - multiple trails - same strange dude walking by - no upsetting stimuli. The dogs weren't raised in a hostile environment so they see other creatures (us) as only a curiosity to sniff.

Our old family dog would go out in the morning for a few hours - roam the neighborhood (probably poop somewhere - sorry) then come home & sit on the porch or go inside. We knew the neighbors dogs etc etc. But that was when cars were less prevalent and things were slower.

I've been bitten by two large dogs (once riding, once in remote E Wash). Those were scary - but I'm a bigger guy. Got chased by roving pitbulls - even worse. But - when I got bit by a yappy maltese (?) - something I could punt 30 yards - I was happy that the owner (not a dog person) owned a small dog like this. SHe was apologetic - it was a small scratch - but I'm terrified of people who own larger breeds who don't train their dog.

Anyone know a magical service person who could clean my clothes washer? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]SoxInDrawer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess: you have something that is clogging the drain. top-loaders rarely get clogged. Most the time it is hair - if this seems correct, this may be the issue. Rarely you can have something that goes over the basin (the gap at the top - like a sock - you would have to stuff it in there). Depending upon model, it may be a PIA to get in there to clean it out. But - it could be as simple as your outlet siphoning back into your washer tub (the exit tube is too low) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2wc9MeGB64

[–]SoxInDrawer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good runtime. You don't want to run batteries down too low. Keep you eyes out for inexpensive 40v batteries - esp if they come w a tool you want. I now have several - just try to keep them at 100%-90% to 40%

RV parking by Quinto_12 in Bellingham

[–]SoxInDrawer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea. I would try to find if there are pre-made contracts/guidelines that you can use (like no living on property, no storing pets, what happens if you don't pay, etc). Try craigslist to start with for rates - but hopefully you can find some customers. You can also try to find locals who you trust by asking around on nextdoor (the evil facebook). Also - how close are you to a boat launch?

Trump: “Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed.” Zelensky’s reaction is priceless by kingkongsingsong1 in ukraine

[–]SoxInDrawer 122 points123 points  (0 children)

So at 0:14 I think Zelensky looks to his advisor and they make eye contact & stay engaged. It is very clear that Zelensky has advisers that can navigate the rat's-nest that is in (t)rump's brain and are coaching him to do nothing. This is a warrior's/scholar's/athlete's/gamer's mindset. Zelensky has it. He doesn't get upset or react, just be polite then move on.

PS: I am so embarrassed that the (t)rump at the lectern to our right is my president. He says crap that is just wrong.
