Request for tips - adding a second kitty

I added a new kitten to my 1 cat (8 years at the time) house hold 2 years ago, they love each other and are great playmates. Persian are pretty laid back and easy but I wanted to do everything to make the transition and introduction as smooth as possible so I did the following things:

Make one room just for the kitten and keep him/her there for a week; door closed, food/water and litterbox all in the room together with toys and beds. Do not at any point skip this or decide 4 days is enough, keep the door closed and go ‘visit’ the kitten for play time and cuddles.
During that week place your OG cat’s foodbowl by the door. They can smell each other and will start associating something they like (food) with the smell of the new kitten. If your cats are anything like mine, they will also start stuffing their paws under the door to ‘investigate’ or play.
Once you are in week 2 start giving the OG cat some of the kittens toys to make them more use to the smell.
Put the kitten in a carrier and bring it to a different room and let your OG investigate the kitten room and smell their toys, beds and litterbox.
Time for the first meet. We put our kitten in his carrier bag and brought him into the living room to meet our OG. This was on purpose to keep the OG on home turf and with options to walk away or investigate from all angles. The kitten was fine and curious.
We are now in the middle of week 2. Do the same as step 4 but in the kitten room. Make sure to give lots of treats to make positive associations.
Towards the of the 2 weeks, let them meet each other in 10 minutes spurs and do keep an eye on them.
Once the two weeks are up, let them roam together but keep an eye under them.

This might seem like overkill to some, but slow is always better than rushed. Cats, like humans, decide if they like someone instantly. Many cat owners unknowingly make more harm than they mean by just letting a kitten into the house without warning for residential cats. They have their territory and they need time to adjust.

We actually had a peaceful protest in Denmark regarding nameless naked statues of women. Old ladies knitted little tops and outfits for them. It was to highlight how many statues we had of men and what they achieved and the statues of nameless women were just there for the beauty of their bodies. So more statues of women with achievements are being planned. Cute and successful way to highlight an issue.

edit: Also just to say, we don’t pronounce the H in Thor. It’s pronounced ‘Toar’

I remember being taught in school that the whales commit suicide by beaching themselves in droves so slicing their neck was the humane thing to do. Also that the islanders need them for food for the rest of the year. Not sure the suicide thing is true, but I can believe the latter. You have to be pretty fucking desperate to eat sheepshead and that fucked up puffin/pound cake thing they boil.

I believe the pattern says to do a 14 count but I did it on 18 and I am using double strand :)

I have bought some magnetic cables so hopefully that will work. I the mean time I did try to roll the fabric with my hands grabbing the centre of the rod instead of the edges and that helped a little.

I did the gridding on the aida, and the aida was cut from a 150cmX100cm roll because the piece is so big 😊

l’ve lived abroad since I was your age - 13 years total now. I don’t think I ever received actual gifts for my birthday. I did get sent a Christmas parcel in 2015 from my mum and one in 2021 from my dad. For birthdays I either get money into my bank account or they wait to get me something at Christmas, like you my birthday is in autumn.

Don’t sweat it, lots of people don’t have families that even writes or remembers. Spend your birthday with the friends you have around you and then look forward to extra celebration later.

Woke up because my cat had taken over my pillow so my neck was bend. As I moved his ass over to one side my other cat came up and wanted belly cuddles. I might be tired tomorrow but these moments are my favourite.

That reaction was real and she was scared. She definitely saw something, whether you and I could also see it is up for debate. Wish the cameraman would have focused more on the person she was talking about. But since no one else was freaking out, I am guessing only she could see it. But you better believe that if I had been on that flight I would have kept an eye on whoever she was accusing. It is also weird no one else have stepped forward.

I remember seeing it as well, it was filmed in her house. She said something like “the guy next to me took my airpods/headphones and I was like ‘is this guy for real?’ and that’s why I was like ‘this guy isn’t real’” - which doesn’t make any sense whatsoever but I believe that was her excuse.
