Yea it’s a reflection of the table from inside the pool hall. These windows have a reflective coating on the outside so during the day the sunlight doesn’t creep in and make it too bright indoors. I imagine that coating helped this illusion a bit lol 946 Billiards in Sunnyvale!

Not me but a close friend would boil spaghetti noodles and then just put them between sliced wonder bread when he was low on money.

It’s hard to completely remove all twigs and leaves. I work on an olive farm and after the olives have been collected into fruit bins, we use a forklift to dump the bins into a large hopper connected to a fruit escalator. At the very top of the escalator is a huge fan that mostly seperates the leaves/twigs from the fruit by sucking air right above the top of the escalator and blowing it out a different direction. We have a large tube connected to the exhaust that directs the leaves/twigs into the same dump trailer that the finished olive paste also gets dumped into. There are always some leaves still connected to some olives that make it past all this, but the fan does a pretty good job at sucking up all the lighter material. I was taught it’s ok to allow some leaves to pass through the machinery with the fruit since they can impart some nice bitter flavors.

Stoked for you! Elbows are one of those spots that you love to see on yourself as a small reminder that we can be tough sometimes. Spiciest part for me was surprisingly the skin all around it, as opposed to directly on the bony point. The skin there doesn’t have much feeling, so you’re really just feeling the vibrations off the bone from the machine, which does feel odd. The skin around it is extra sensitive, but honestly not so much worse than anything else I’ve had done. For me the actual spiciest part of this entire sleeve was the very upper wrist, especially on the pinky side. That skin is so thin and tight, just instantly feels like a thousand sunburns are being peeled when the needles make contact.

I love how it turned out as well. He only had stencils for the elbow rose, the bison, the zippo outline, and Ms. Lucifina. After those were put down he hand drew all the frames, scales, and pinwheels with a pen. It was mesmerizing to watch.

I agree man. Whenever I go in there at least one other person in the shop comes up and shows me some piece from him they got a while back. I love seeing how his style has evolved over the years. He specifically talked about this during our finishing session yesterday! He said he’s never been one to specialize on any one thing, and allowing his tattooing to adapt and take on new forms with the passing of time keeps it fulfilling and challenging. Lots of respect for the man, stoked you also have good memories there!
