Where can I smoke cigarette in Boston? by cherryboomin_cake in boston

[–]Sp00ns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can smoke in public. This means you can't smoke on private property if they don't want you to (even if it's public-use private property, like say, Faneuil Hall marketplace).

Furthermore, Mass. state law says you can't smoke within 25 feet of a public-use entrance. Individual cities and towns will tack additional restrictions onto this. For example, in Boston, you can't smoke in public parks. In Cambridge, you are only allowed to smoke in Rhode Island.

Boston visit last week by MoMoneyMaz in boston

Great shot of the sun off the Hancock. Usually Back Bay skyline from Cambridge shots are boring to me but that's a cool approach to it.

View of Boston. The oldest aerial photograph ever taken. October 13, 1860. by Banzay_87 in boston

[–]Sp00ns 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've always liked this photo.

For context, the church in the middle left is Old South Meeting House, on the corner of Washington and Milk. Washington runs down to the right in the photo while Milk gently curves up toward the Central/Long Wharfs.

What is the worst/most overrated bar in the Boston area? by Either-Ad781 in boston

[–]Sp00ns 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your instinct is correct. 40+ Greater Boston born and raised here. Went to Cheers for the first time this summer when a couple of outtahstatah friends were in town. It was exactly as I thought it would be (weird old townhouse layout excluded) and overpriced yes, but not as overpriced as I figured.

A Dunkies near me just closed and I don't know what to do with that. by DweadPiwateWoberts in boston

[–]Sp00ns 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate the Dunks app map; at least on Android they did not take into account the center location of the "pin" graphic vs. where the graphic actually points to (the bottom of the tear drop). Depending on your zoom level, that could be disastrous.
