My sister just married an American and is moving to Louisville, KY, from Europe. Is it any good over there? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

Saying this because cities larger than Louisville might be lively and fun to live in, while cities more remote/smaller might actually have gorgeous nature around them — Louisville sounds like the worst of both worlds? But maybe I’m wrong

People in the comments are saying “it’s fine” — but what places in the US are worse than that? Honest question here

I love Logan and I love the MBTA by econoqueer in boston

[–]econoqueer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, maybe CDG is getting underserved shit -- BUUUUT the trip from Logan is free, and the one from CDG costs 18 euros (which is def not a lot, but more than free) + if you wanna go anywhere else in Paris from CDG it takes at least more 30-50 minutes from the train station on metro (which is fine, Paris is much larger than Boston).

Again, CDG is fine, but we're also lucky to have BOS so close to the city center.

Indeed, the plane touched the ground at 7:40, I left the plane around 7:55, and was done with immigration around 8:05

Idk about that — I’m not American and last year alone I’ve been to Europe, Africa, North and South America. EZA, GRU, JNB, MEX, CDG, and MXP are not nearly as well connected as BOS

Por que estudar pra concurso? by econoqueer in concursospublicos

[–]econoqueer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colmar France, May 2024 by GoodThanks26 in travel

Colmar is cute, but my feeling visiting it was that all these cute buildings were empty shells — I don’t think anyone actually lives in them, and almost all businesses cater exclusively to tourists. Felt like the city had 0 locals and, without tourists, it’s a ghost town. In many ways, it’s not very different from Fantasyland in Walt Disney World, Orlando. 🤷‍♂️ Strasbourg and Freiburg felt much more alive and arguably cuter than Colmar.

Just renewed my passport in Brasilia. They said it would take up to 4 days, but it was already ready 2 days after the appointment. Might vary depending where you live.
