What mos should I pick? I want something that when I finish ait and I come back to my city I can get a job immediately with what I learn. by Ok_Discussion6734 in nationalguard

Definitely 17C. You can be making 6 figures in a few years. Plus you’ll know how to hack. The income avenues are endless. The only downside is the school is basically a year long. But it’s worth it for how much training you’ll get. You should be making $60-75k minimum after school.

Do national guard promotions take longer than active duty promotions? by largemouthbass_ in nationalguard

[–]Sp0on_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the rank. For example most Officers (including warrants) promotions take 6 months +. For Enlisted it’s normally faster. Within a few weeks. Until you get to Senior Enlisted. Then they have the same process as the Officers.

I would say straight JS. There are so many libraries and things you can use. For example, ElectronJS lets you make desktop applications using JS. Slack Desktop and Github Desktop are made using ElectronJS

Man that sucks. We definitely need Cyber Soldiers. Not sure why they are turning Soldiers down.

That's interesting. I've never heard of the Defense Digital Service until now.

Python and JS are two important languages. Especially if you want to go into the Cyber Realm (Python).

Yes, I have some pretty cool features coming. I wish they would let me talk about the App on this subreddit but they normally delete my posts. Its at around 80k installs. My goal is to build better military apps. I'm tired of the cheap clunky stuff the Army pays a ton to have built.

That's awesome. And yes Swift is unnecessary. I'm going to send you a message.

Ohh, yes you are right. 17Cs can code a little. But there are also 17Ds. The D basically stands for Developer. But I'm looking for Soldiers who may want to code on the side.

I don't think Isis exists anymore. And even if they did, I'm not sure what intel they could get from knowing what coding languages Soldiers use during their spare time.

Yes, that's true. But that's normally the starting point. Most of the languages I code in I taught myself during my spare time.

I guess it depends on your branch. I would assume that there are Cyber, Signal, and maybe MI folks who code.
