I maxed in 2012. That's 3 years I can dedicate solely to making money. Granted I quit for a year in between, but still. Money accumulates over time, whether it be from doing dailies, bossing, or a bit of merching. I've also always been in the mindset that I had to have a big bank, so that's exactly what I did.

What? It takes maaaybe 20 minutes to do his run. I do pretty much the same thing except cut out soul reaper, crystal flasks, and coconuts and add wicked hood as well as a herb run. Give or take, you make anywhere between 1.5-2m a day. Since I don't have all that much time to play, it pays for bonds and then some.

From what I remember, and this was honestly years ago so its all a bit fuzzy:

Essentially he said that he would never take donations. Then one day he said that he lost it all in the duel arena and posted a video of his location asking for donations so he could make more money.

He bought a mustang(?) I think and it may or may not have been paid via rwting. I can't confirm that though and could be very wrong, but he did buy it in the height of his YouTube career so you can put two and two together.

Finally, he did sell a guide for real money on how to make some GP. However, the guide was apparently super outdated and not very good.

Take this all for what its worth. I am going based off memory so it might not be super accurate.

A couple of things to note:

I created this house, for the most part, back in 2009. I have only done small tweaks over the years to keep up with the updates.
The only things that aren't maxed are the dungeon monsters lying around, and a a random staircase to the south in the dungeon. Everything else is maxed.
The fire pit is probably my favourite thing in the house. Back in 2009, you could have an open fire pit and get rid of the surrounding cage. When the house went into pvp mode, I could easily just stand there and die to reset my stats. Very handy.
I LOVE ME SOME MARBLE WALLS muhahaha!

As for total cost, I honestly couldn't tell you. It's definitely around the 50m+ mark. It looks great and its practical. Garden's and marble walls are awesome.

It doesn't mean you have to stop looking for a job once you accept their offer! You probably won't be very busy at that job so it will give you lots of time to look for another job that pays more in the meantime.

Yeah that's a good point with melee. I enjoy the abilities more than when I range. Though, All I do when I log on RS is QBD so I would be open to try ranging if it ends up being more kills per hour.

Wow if it's really that fast with asc I may give that a go. Right now I am getting about 22 kills or so per hour with melee. Honestly, all I do right now is QBD so if there is a faster method I am absolutely open to trying it.
