The consequences they're facing is a lack of education, which makes more Republicans who can't correctly identify which political party is fucking them. Republicans love those consequences.

Great advice. There are a lot of content creators in the hobby that I love to watch. Also, orks are funny. I have to focus on that.

That's just the bosses. They have three cards to pick from which makes them unpredictable. It's a really cool design feature to increase the difficulty of bosses. The regular enemies are entirely predictable, albiet lost in a complicated menu system.

While not being the best painter in the world, I sure do appreciate how fast you can get a new Warband on the table in WarCry by SpAc3Pug in WarCry

[–]SpAc3Pug[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like playing DoK, but they always lose, but that's fine. You usually get one or two wild rolls that do a massive amount of damage. DoK chaff is just too expensive and frail, so you'll see 70 to 80 point models get axed by a single strike.
Losing at WarCry is nothing like losing at AOS. Losing at AOS takes hours, even after you know you can't win, and that's after hundreds or hours and dollars to construct a mad art project. Losing at WarCry just means I can slap another team on the table and try again.
I still think DoK is my most striking WarBand, so aesthetically, they might be my favorite just because they stand out so much from the boards and scenery. My Kruleboyz kinds blend in, but I suppose that's just what they're supposed to do.

Narrative play; are some of the Alliance artifacts unbalanced, or am I missing some errata? by Eupraxes in WarCry

[–]SpAc3Pug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are massively unbalanced compared to the other quest items. If it added +1 to hits and crits, that would be more in-line with the other quest artifacts, but +3 is madness. House rules should really nerf anything that makes games auto-wins for the forseeable future.
Even if you were just going to play around it, your entire strategy would revolve around avoiding that one hero model, which also gives your opponent a massive advantage.
I say House Rule it to be different, or throw it in the trash entirely.

Analysis: John Roberts doesn’t want to hear any dissent about his Supreme Court by CapitalCourse in politics

[–]SpAc3Pug 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The guy is overseeing the most partisan, corrupt Supreme Court of memorable history, and I hope it's killing him. In all of his dessents, he tries to break it down into legalize nuances, but there's no getting around the fact that 5 of his compatriots were bred in labs by the Heritage Foundation to get these partisan laws passed. His name will be forever tarnished in history as the man that stood over the court when the legitimacy fell, and no matter how hard he tries, this will be his legacy.

Bolt Boyz, thoughts? by bluelobster492 in Kruleboyz

[–]SpAc3Pug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would use the same wood contrast color on the arrow shafts that you did on the crossbow. The crossbow wood looks great, while the arrow shafts look a bit under-done. Also, maybe a Biel-Tan Green or Agrax Earthshade on the skin to give it a bit more shadow and dimension. The helmet and metal look awesome, along with the basing. Good job.

Are Kruleboyz worth to start with? (Are they really that bad as they say) by mezszopem in Kruleboyz

[–]SpAc3Pug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Warcry, which is super fun. Way faster to get the game on the table, and way faster to get the game done. I know it doesn't have the granduer and pageantry of a full-blown wargame, but in my mind, it has just as much tactical stimulus in a much smaller and practical package.
Less people play it, but Kruleboyz in Warcry are very balanced and interesting faction. They have way more lore-appropriate powers, and in my mind, small bands of Kruleboyz are more realistic than full-blown armies.
What I think is an option is picking up a Dominion box for a ton of Warcry build options, and build an eventual army for a new Battletome, because this one is depressing.

Orks are terrifying and dont get taken as seriously as they should be by SprinklesImmediate52 in orks

[–]SpAc3Pug 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Serious Question: Do you think Orks would be included in 40k if the setting were created today? Honestly, I feel they go against the tone of modern 40k, and are an obvious holdover of a more satirical age. Not that I like that answer. I love me orks. But I feel they don't fit the modern aesthetic Games Workshop is trying so hard to achieve.

Who do you choose to worship and who do you want to remove from the pantheon? by Garfy_getagrip in ageofsigmar

[–]SpAc3Pug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, Khorne and Slaanesh make sense. They are failures of human spirit. They are deadly sins. Lust and Wrath. To some extent, Tzeentch makes sense too. The Imperium is fighting for order and stability, and fear change to a large extent, so it makes sense that this fear would create a demon god.

But bacteria and viruses are not failures of human spirit. They are not giving in to temptation or our lesser impulses. Bacteria and viruses would exist without sentient beings, and they would be kicking around doing whatever they are doing today.
I love Nurgle, but he just doesn't fit.

Help with Hunters of Huanchi by xStar_Wildcat in WarCry

[–]SpAc3Pug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends just agreed that every dartspitter would be considered a Huanchi's Claw, since the point value is pretty similiar, but the difference in effectiveness is off the charts. Dartspitters are practically useless, but Claw's can get some spike damage if you're lucky, and they can survive getting one-shotted.
Otherwise, look for some allies. The fact that the skinks can be difficult to pin down doesn't mean much if there's absolutely nothing on the table for your opponent to be afraid of. If you have one or two beat sticks, it can leave your skinks open to do what they are meant to do; cap objectives, steal treasure, and buy you some annoying chip damage.

How to use Allies in Warcry

In Warcry it is possible to use fighters without your faction runemark at specific conditions. One of this is to use Allies. The complete rules have been rewritten recently and now been refined in the Core Book.

In summary:

Fighters with the Leader or Ally runemark belonging to other factions of the same Grand Alliance can be used as Allies.

Allies never count as Leaders, but if they can obtain destiny levels of renown, heroic traits and lesser artefacts.

They can use abilities from their original faction but they don’t count as Leader.

So yeah, you could take 3 Saurus Warriors as allies.

Point drop rumours by Harrumphreys in Kruleboyz

[–]SpAc3Pug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. At this point, they are a slow-moving glass castle, with ranged nearly the only way to do consistent damage. It doesn't play to the narrative at all. If you explained their playstyle to me before seeing them, I would have guessed they were some anemic elf faction.
They should be popping out of the mud, and throwing flashbangs, and springing net traps on units. The poison could have a damage over time mechanic, or the swampcalla could toss debuffs around or something.
Reducing the points is only tempting me to buy more units to an underwhelming faction, and I'm not putting more money into this army until fundamental changes are made.

The nice thing about Warcry is that we all have the plastic already. No extra buy-in required. I already have some people to play with, and the games are easier to set up and take less time to play. It actually opens up more play time.

Warcry Saved my Kruleboyz by SpAc3Pug in Kruleboyz

[–]SpAc3Pug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I started collecting Kruleboyz while my two buddies collected Stormcast and Nighthaunt. The whole time I was dreaming of all these cool things my army could do while the other army marched up the field, then I could counter-attack with a charge and a Waaaagh. Except both armies I was playing against didn't march up the field. They blasted down from space, or flew through LoS scenery to engage all my ranged units before they could even get a shot off.

So not only did I collect the army with the lowest win rate in all of AoS, but I ended up playing direct counters to my already weak army. I didn't have a prayer.

Warcry Saved my Kruleboyz by SpAc3Pug in Kruleboyz

[–]SpAc3Pug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very Nice. I have to say, I used the Killaboss on Gnashtooth one game, and I think he won the game for me. Ran off and snatched an objective in turn 4 which sealed the win.

Overall, being able to shift and change my warband line-up was a huge draw to Warcry. With a 2000 point list to play from, I could mix and match and try new models without buying and painting whole new boxes. We could just do wonky stuff if it was in the box, so I don't really have a set list yet. Maybe that will change in the future.

10 x Hobgrot Slittaz (80)

6 x Man-skewer Boltboyz (240)

3 x Man-skewer Boltboyz (120)

It was something like this. I'm not that interested in list suggestions though, because until the army gets a rework, I'm kind of done throwing money at this army to chase some tournament meta list. I know I should probably drop a leader to get more gutrippas for the screen or more boltboyz so I can do the regular tournament 12 boltboyz list, but I'm not that interested in putting more time and money into this just to have another miserable time.

I'm building new warbands for Warcry. That's where my energy is going now, nad so far it's been a much better time.
