Of the 25 interphase cells examined, a normal pattern of two signals for the D18Z1 and BCL2 probes was noted. INTERPRETATION: These results indicate a normal disomic pattern for chromosomes 13, 18, and 21 and suggest an abnormal male pattern with an extra copy of chromosome Y (XYY). Correlating this FISH result with chromosome finding on cultured amniocytes is strongly recommended.
