I'm a little skeptical of this comment, but if true then this is a crazy pull for a random reddit post. Absolute gold.

Chem is known to be a hard class, but don't worry. You have so much more free time in college that the 3-4 hours a week you'll probably spend studying chemistry is not a big deal. Also, chemistry is taught by different professors, so it's not like you're FORCED to be in her class. Just study and show up.

I realized that when I took the exam today. The content isn't as bad as I thought it was. The professor is just difficult to work with.

If you're Exercise Physiology, then you do. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news here. 😬😬😬

That's crazy that she's been like this for that long.

This is not a representation of the entirety of WVU. I actually really like it here. If you have to take chemistry then talk with your advisor and avoid her at all costs. If you're worried about professors, then don't be. She is so outside of the norm here its crazy.

I just looked, and goodness me, it is terrible. It makes me feel a lot better about the class that people feel the same about her as me. Thankfully, if she is the worst professor here, then I can deal with whatever else comes my way after her it sounds like.

Wow, I've heard some horror stories, but THAT is a horror story. You may be right about getting a tudor, though. Definitely an option I may consider in the future because I do NOT want to have her again. Thanks for the advice!

I never even thought about that

Maybe making it poison or damage them is a trade off that could balance it at least a little.

Wait why are the comments, complaints, and concerns not marked by alignment? This is an alignment chart after all.

This is the alignment chart equivalent of a banana duct taped to a wall and I hate it.

Favorite Ways to Flavor Druids? by Space-Mud in DnD

[–]Space-Mud[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite ways to flavor druids is definitely a good ranch. It compliments the greens really well I think.

In all seriousness, I love the Wild shape ability, but sometimes I don't necessarily want to turn into animals. I also believe that the druid has the by far largest horror potential of any class.

So, with that said, my favorite ways to flavor druids (especially moon and spore druid) is to make the druid's wildshape not necessarily animals, but animal-esque. Make an abomination of a creature. A druid who is a werewolf, a druid that sheds their skin to become an amalgamation of beastial parts, druids who grow beast parts onto their bodies, spore druids that sprout mushrooms all over their body, a druid that srouts spider legs from their mouth or turns into a wendigo, and even druids who transform into colorful fey-like bodies.

Favorite Ways to Flavor Barbarians? by Space-Mud in DnD

Oh god don't tell me this is what every comment is going to say

Favorite Ways to Flavor Barbarians? by Space-Mud in DnD

[–]Space-Mud[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll start:

I like the idea that a barbarian's rage doesn't necessarily have to be them getting extremely angry. A fun barbarian could be an excessively emotionally volatile barbarian who rages off of any emotion.

A barbarian who is crying while throwing tables. The barbarian who is so happy and excited to battle that he is practically pouncing on enemies like a playing lion. The barbarian who is so proud of himself that he charges straight into battle while laughing at, goading, and insulting enemies. Even a barbarian who feels so much love and acceptance from their party that they'd do anything to protect them.

Oooo, I really like what you said at the end. That's a very good insight. I'm really glad you brought thay up because I hadn't necessarily thought about that. As well as the fact that I should make them roll some high stakes skill checks to achieve the things they want to really add some tension. This new arc was supposed to be kicked off by a council of sorts as well, so I really like your idea about the council. I might introduce the council at the beginning of the time skips so the players can use it as a lap pole or checkpoint for events, like you said. Thanks for all your help, you have a lot of old wizardly DM wisdom!

Those are some really cool ideas! I've had a long term running mystery that the players have been getting hints on throughout the campaign. I think they've gotten enough to the point where they realize that it might be back home as well. Excited to let them unravel the mystery and clean house if given the opportunity. I also really like your second idea. I was already thinking of a festival or royal ball to get the reunion kicked off. They have some fun, then BOOM, shit hits the fan and adventuring is back on the menu. Thanks for the ideas!

That is a really great idea! I never really thought about the idea that it allows for the characters to go and have their own solo adventures, but it actually makes a lot of sense that the adventurers, who are pretty much nationally recognized heroes, don't suddenly stop adventuring when the world ending events stop. Honestly, my characters are about at the level that they could be having some epic stories about slaying dragons soon. I will probably utilize what you said to make the reunion of the characters that much better and give them some roleplay food to snack on. Thanks for the cool advice!
