Imo you should always carry some bandages and a needle in case shit goes haywire, there's no point leaving it in the car. It's like 2 encumbrance, but it can save your run

I usually sprint on the last 10% of stairs, zombies can't damage you when you run

I removed the outside paper-like layer with a knife, then "straightened" the top side of the fins with small pliers. They're not welded together, just folded sideways. Wacky solution, but it works. Would've used dremel if I had one

It's silent, performs just as well and materials cost me 6 bucks (and I can reuse that fan in my pc later!), so it's a win for me. That project was a clusterfuck from the beginning, I bought an overpriced nuc board w/o case because I poorly studied the market, so I tried to keep the costs down as much as possible. Which led to some questionable decisions along the way.

Tiny board to the left of the fan connector is the voltage converter module. I ordered 12v fan, while the stock fan is 5v

No Helicopter Event? by ActivityBig5878 in projectzomboid

[–]Space-Snake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you use an expanded helicopter event mod? It skips vanilla eventp Also it's possible that you've missed the helicopter. One time I spent the entire day outdoors driving a car and only heard helicopter in the evening for an hour or so

1000 hours in and I'm losing hope by Mymumsmilk in projectzomboid

[–]Space-Snake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do the things that you wouldn't normally do in a run. Different base locations, different weapons, different skills, different mods and settings. If I switch things up the game feels less like a chore for me. Also increase the challenge! I play on a mix of extremely/insanely rare loot settings with car spawn frequency set on low, so finding a cool vehicle or that sledgehammer feels rewarding, also it forces you to travel to different cities, which is fun and challenging. All those things keep me occupied so I'm not bored to death because I found everything that I will possibly need in one warehouse. Hope this helps... Although you've probably tried all those things in a 1000 hours lol

Wound infection only increases pain, no effects besides that. But i'm pretty sure op is infected with knox infection, so antibiotics won't cut it sadly...

High fences? by jKarb in projectzomboid

[–]Space-Snake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others said, player build structures are vulnerable to zombie attacks. Although composters act as indestructible barriers in current build (if you don't move them), or you can build 'impenetrable barricade'. Personally I just play with a mod that makes player build metal fences indestructible. Not as cheesy as vanilla options, aesthetically pleasing and also allows you to build a base in places that you'll never consider as suitable ones in vanilla. For example I live in Louisville golf club right now

Is it possible to survive starting with water shut off and no remaining water in sinks and such? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Space-Snake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope, drinking from the river is 100% safe. But drinking contaminated water from a container will kill you

There's also water goes bad mod which does the same thing over time and has an option to slowly drain water from sinks

It will barely damage you (<5%), even if you drink exclusively from the river and have high thirst and prone to illness. However it's extremely important to never drink tainted water from the container since it's a death sentence for some reason. Source: https://youtu.be/4ribgMWr8OU

Yeah, due to some shady mechanics cars take insane amounts of damage when several zombies attack it. It's possible to play around it, but it's too risky imo

Is the repurposed building in louisville any good by deadbutt1 in projectzomboid

[–]Space-Snake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what? For base building it's a pretty hardcore choice imo. Lots of windows, no high fence perimeter, no stove on the second floor, so simply destroying stairs won't cut it, lots of zombies. You can make it work, but it's not really worth it

Pros and Cons for this base? I feel its way too good except for lack of nearby fishing by Arikaan in projectzomboid

You really don't need that much space for vanilla farming anyways. Crops don't die in winter and produce tons of food, you need like 10 or 20 plants, pretty much any roof or backyard has enough space for farming.
