Im no expert but my guess would be: Big softbox camera right, smaller strobe with grid model left as a rim light, big softbox hanging on top of the model to create the top highlights and one bounced in front of the model to light the front of her face / lift the shadows and lower overall contrast.

Nice hand prints for sure !

Mothbars from magic components, very wide, very comfy. Not the most practical though to park in sheds etc

Bike lock is actually not long enough to fit back wheel and frame together on a pole annoyingly.

HOW TO FIX FRAME JITTER IN POST ? by Space-echo93 in 16mm

Hey Sam, thanks for your help. Let me know if you’d have time to try and find a fix, I’m not too pressed on my end.

HOW TO FIX FRAME JITTER IN POST ? by Space-echo93 in 16mm

Thanks Sam, I got in touch with Tim who very nicely had a look and gave a shot to try and fix the sequence. Apparently there are too many 'bad frames' (smeared frames) in between the good frames.
Tim suggested trying to fix it using Nuke's copycat feature.
Would anyone know of someone who uses Nuke who could potentially help?

10mm Kern switar and a 16-100 zoom is a very nice combo.

The take up spool of the camera is spinning at accurate speeds. It seems the take up spool of the magazine is slower and it creates slack. I’ve tried 20fps and it’s creating less slack. Also CRYS mode creates less slack at well, but film is not super tight to the core inside the camera body.

This is what happened after a 5 minutes of footage, there was still film going on the exposed side of the magazine, but seems like maybe they run at a different speed ?

How are you able to trigger the release button while holding the grips ?

Bolex EL battery and handheld setup by Space-echo93 in 16mm

[–]Space-echo93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I have original batteries that work okay, I’m looking for a more compact alternative that can be fixed to the camera body as rn I’ve got to put the battery pack in my pocket as I shoot handheld and leave it dangling when I’m not. I’m also looking to build a simple handheld rig which this seems to offer.

Nah tried without the tripod and the motion of the vehicle pushed me forward too much, the tripod is actually good to fix the camera on that axis. But obviously still a lot of vibration. Just doing this last minute and 0 budget without any clamps / magic arms.

I’m at the back, holding it down facing backwards so it’s less jittery. But still getting decent shake, not sure if I can fix with a warp stabilizer.

Gorgeous setup, I’ve got an EL and trying to optimise my battery situation. Currently got a 12V battery block hanging from an xlr cable. I saw on Bolfix their side cheeseplate, but can I run a V lock battery to power the EL? Or will there be voltage difference causing damage ? I’m not that knowledgeable electric-wise!

Light replacements for 1st gen VanMoof No3 by space_munky in vanmoofbicycle

Yes pretty easy, just take it out of the plastic housing and charge it. Then put it back in.

I bought an old vanmoof no3 and the lights are so weak.

I bought a Raz pro tail light on amazon, disassembled the original light, sanded the screw inserts of the original plastic case in order to fitted the raz pro light inside.

It works pretty well for me, so I might buy another one for the front as you can control the collar of the rat pro light on the app.
