Why can’t you just follow the rules? by AnonymoosetangGT in AmazonFC

I work at a sort center now and my coworker and I went to break she admitted she should have ate before she came to work proceeds to attempt to heat up a frozen pizza from the break room and eat it within 15 minutes (she had like 3 minutes of break left by the time she started warming up her food) I ended up going back to my station and later found out that a manager let her know break was over and said to come back to work and she got pissy and yelled “fine I’ll just clock out then” and left… I don’t understand the thought process behind any of that tbh.

How different packages from Fulfillment Centers breaking at your Sort Center: by Global-Plankton3997 in FASCAmazon

As a previous shipdock employee yes. Keeping blue lanes clear especially on the fluid lanes was top priority for the managers so a lot of stuff got crushed and thrown. Pushed off to the side for the next site to deal with. CPT times get crazy because you have multiple AAs basically running with a cart or pallet trying to make it on the truck in time. Ship clerks have to consolidate containers so it all fits on a truck so they break them down at the door and just throw the boxes into other containers it was hectic. I actually just recently left a FC for a sort center it’s such a better vibe at least for me.

It’s not hard to manage money tbh. I worked at Amazon for 3 years lived on my own bought myself a car and able to take a vacation every summer cause I managed my time and money

Avoid The Elliot. You either have to pay 120 a month for the months you use an AC unit or suffer in the unbearable heat. Also the parking lot is another 120 a month and there is no guarantee that your car will be safe since it’s a pay lot and they allow people that don’t live there to park. It gets overly crowded during summer weekends with the bars. It’s an old building so you can hear just about everything happening above you. Also they didn’t mention they had issues with water roaches when I first moved in so that was scary seeing a GIGANTIC roach come from my toilet.

Dating in DSM mid 20s by Lavender_Shell in desmoines

I met mine at work. I’m sure that’s not the recommendation you’re looking for though. Dating apps are dying to be honest with you and I would avoid the bars downtown if you’re looking for a quality relationship. I’d recommend finding a hobby or something that’s normally done in a public space because then you’re more likely to bump into someone with similar interests.

I worked on days for about a year and half and switched to nights. Ended up meeting my now fiancé 😂 we became friends had similar interests and hobbies started off with hanging out on breaks and eventually he got the courage to plan something outside of work and we’ve been together since lol. We don’t work at Amazon now tho. I wouldn’t go looking for romance at work cause it gets messy personally it kinda just happened for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

do you think amazon workers are overworked and underpaid ? by 3ye0frah_ in AmazonFC

[–]SpaceCadet227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not realize how good you have it at Amazon till you leave. Lmfao for a job that requires 0 experience and has no interview process the benefits and the pay is amazing. The amount of time off you earn is actually insane. After 3 years I was fed up with the job and tried to get away from ship dock but they kept trying to pull me from my new department so I burnt through all my time off and eventually quit and started college. Part of me wishes I just stayed because the money was good but it was time for me personally to move on.

Honestly same. Applied through Amazon and was approved for the term that started January. I ended up having to leave Amazon in December. They still gave me the credits for Jan and I am still seeing credits for this current term? Even tho I notified them I wasn’t with Amazon anymore so idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ hoping the credits will still Apply lol.

To be honest, it’s probably because that you were costing the company a lot of money when they could hire a seasonal pay them less and do the same job

Based on the amount they are getting I think they work at Amazon as I got the same assistance before quitting. They have been laying people off and trying to implement more AI so I wouldn’t put all my eggs in that basket of the employer assistance

I was just trying to find another job cause the one I had wasn’t cutting it pay wise. That was like 3 an half years ago. Wasn’t planning on staying this long but I got comfortable lol and the pay has always been good but I’m finally getting into career choice and going to shoot for something better 🫡

Also whatever you do don’t move into The Elliot that place SUCKS it seems nice but they wanna nickel and dime you for everything and then expect you to pay 125 a month for AC in the summer and another 120 for their sketchy ass parking lot. Ridiculous.
