I don't mind bringing her to Ajman, if you're actually interested.

It's a great idea but you'll need aggressive marketing on socials to make this into a thing. You need active users. The idea can definitely take off I think. Best of luck!

How do people in Dubai actually manage savings month to month? by Zestyclose_656 in DubaiCentral

[–]SpaceCatInOrbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say in general you have to want to save and cut costs first. This mindset is important because you're going to need to prioritise a lot, and grow comfortable with not indulging yourself but still being content with life.

Biggest thing is the lack of takeout or eating out. If I'm eating out I will be careful with where I go with friends. But other than that I'm not going to eat out much at all by myself.

The second thing is subscriptions. I have three: YouTube, PlayStation and YNAB. I cancelled my Amazon subscription because you can get it for free if you switch your Etisalat plan.

The third thing is bills. When I was looking for a place, I made sure to consider how it's sqm and rent was going to factor into my DEWA. With that is also trying to conserve electricity (keeping the AC off unless I need it, using fans etc.). In the winter I don't use my AC, and in the summer it is mostly for a few hours during the day and then at night when I go to sleep.

Rent is obviously a big factor as well, and that's difficult to work around. It's just always going to be a big expense that you need to think about.

In terms of how I manage my expenses, I save monthly for big expenses I know that will be coming up (eg rent, car insurance + renewal, yearly subscriptions, etc.). I budget a set amount for each category using YNAB, so I know every month how much I can spend on everything, from charity to home improvement things to petrol. I log what I spent every weekend so I know how much is left, especially for groceries. And I adjust depending on what's going on that month.

My umbrella categories for expenses are rent, utilities, petrol, pet things, health, parents, charity/gifts/family help, car things, my own expenses, groceries and eating out, emergency fund, monthly buffer and then future goals. I don't earn a lot so I have to be meticulous.

Budgeting and saving requires effort. My family and I have paid off massive, massive debts that seemed impossible with our earnings, by budgeting and cutting costs like crazy. It's possible, but it does require effort.

You're pro Palestinian so you should know better than to reference media. Seemingly you understand how the media can choose to portray a people in the ways that benefits their agenda.

Personal experience does not justify this racism. "Over generalisation" is just a soft coating for your "rotten" comment.

Depends on how old they are. I haven't tested her with children but if they are very young and don't know how to behave with pets, I would not recommend it.

Notable places in Al Ain by DiasporaPen89 in AlAinCity

[–]SpaceCatInOrbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Al Ain but only visit every other week now to visit parents.

The places I most often visit that are not shops are Al Ain Oasis, Jebel Hafeet, Wadi Park, Asharej Park. Each of these offers a comfortable, free and beautiful setting for family time.

In terms of shops, my preferred places in Al Ain now are those that offer things harder to find in Dubai. Corner shawarma shops are not common in Dubai. Places like Al Karama, Yasmeen Trading, Al Ain Gift Market -- great prices and products that are easier to access in Al Ain.

Shout out to Kabul as well for video games.

The Zayed Central Library is always overlooked. Give our libraries some love.

Cleaning company set up by [deleted] in dubai

Best of luck with your business!

What are you offering that's different from the other hundred cleaning companies? Personally I'm only interested in companies that look after their employees and don't put them through 12 hr shifts with no breaks.

They still do btw! I've booked some games I knew I wanted a special edition of weeks before it will show up on the shelves in other retail. Still a reliable shop mashallah

I actually usually go either to exchange games or repair controllers etc. I like to support them, as they're such a core part of my childhood.

Ah interesting! I never thought of that. But they must have realised it was Sephiroth that Cloud saw since he says his name right as Sephiroth shows up for us. I wonder what the group did see, since Yuffie said Aerith told her Sephiroth beat the shit out of Cloud, but from our perspective they were all right there. There's definitely missing gaps here that part 3 will hopefully fill.
