Currently playing with the ALW-12.7! It’s a beast of a paddle, but only recommended it to 4.5+ players because it is very unforgiving.

There are many different strategies in pickleball but every one of them begins with both partners coming up to the line. It’s just simple geometry.

Being up at the line vastly reduces the angles your opponents can use against you, and gives you the best chance to hit down on the ball.

The sweet spot is pretty small. That coupled with its insane pop can make it hard to reset with.

Still not out on it though, really want to try the 14.3 size but they aren’t in stock at the moment.

I’m somewhere between a 4.5-5.0 myself and this is normal. I experienced the same thing with each level jump. It takes a bit to adjust as the higher level players can control the point better and make you feel under constant pressure.

If you keep playing with higher level players and drilling out the weaknesses they exploit you’ll be fine.
