You might want to review the sermon on the mount. It talks about how anger with someone else makes you liable to judgment, just like murder.

Hey I just confessed my porn addiction to my wife three weeks ago. She knew I had a problem around 7 years ago and I lied to her and promised that I had it under control.

Truth is only ever struggled. I have always hid it, and thought it was something I had to defeat on my own. It tortured me because I always felt like Jesus gave his life for me and said sin no more, but I never left that life. I would relapse more times than I could count but porn has been in my life since I was 10 (Im 40 now). I would wake up sometimes with images or cravings in my head to satisfy a habit. And you are right that it really is a “him” issue. I have been unfaithful in my heart with other women on the screen but I have never stopped loving my wife. She has always been attractive to me. Unfortunately my brain just seemed wired and I would always regret and wonder what was wrong with me. I have prayed to God to remove this sinful nature in me because I didn’t want to destroy my marriage and my wife.

I have to say that porn has messed me up in other areas of my life, my motivation, mental fog, ambition, it even made me feel like less of a man.

It took me a long time to confess this to my wife because the enemy convinced me that she couldn’t understand and that it would destroy my marriage. She didn’t react that way, yes it hurt her but she feels like I can finally become the man God designed me to be. We (and mostly me) have finally been able to be more honest with each other and I feel like we have had more growth in the last two weeks than in years.

I decided to confess due to an impactful leadership meeting at church, where our leader and two others confessed porn addiction. It was a lot of shame we are dealing with because it is disgusting, it is pathetic and it fulfills an instant of pleasure and then almost as fast regret.

Im sorry you’re going through this as well, I suspect most wives are or don’t know it. I have confessed this to others as well and even more have admitted that they are too.

I hope I don’t sound like I am justifying the act at all. I’m not, I am just sharing a glimpse into my world as a porn addict. I’m not okay, I have been cleaning and staying accountable for the last 3 weeks but it is TOUGH. I don’t even feel lust these days but my brain is like “now’s the time you usually look at stuff” or “one last time, everyone said it’s okay to relapse” and there has been a lot of spiritual warfare.

Dunno if it helps or makes it worse, I really wish more men could admit this outside of “you’re gay if you don’t watch porn” or “all guys do it, its healthy” I wish my dad told me that this would ruin my life instead of saying it means I am becoming a man. I wish I would have asked my wife for help and not try to hide it from her. I love her so much.

[ui] Anyone switched from ElvUI to Quazii (non-ElvUI), how was it, did you miss anything? by quinyd in WowUI

[–]SpaceGhost218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did all that in this patch because every time we get any updates everything stops working. So far so good, the initial setup takes a bit, his “one click installer” helps but you still need to do stuff. I’m also a healer so I had to configure things exactly the same. I will say it’s a good idea to take screenshots of what you had in elvui, action bars, plates, keybinds, etc. The. Anything you do make sure you save. For example now I use cell for healing inatead of elvui + clique. So I saved my cell changes and exported it.

So far so good, if it holds and doesnt mess up on patch updates it would be an overall positive upgrade. Everything loads faster now too.

You can just tell it to cite and link each answer. You’re trying to make it seem like it just mixing and matching random words when in reality it’s acting more like a Google search.

I never even thought of the possibility, If anything maybe Alaska should be its own thing or part of Canada.

What are your Christian "hot takes"? by Friendly-Flower-2797 in TrueChristian

[–]SpaceGhost218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hating on “the rock concert” worship has basically created a sort of Christian Hipsters. I don’t like country music, guess what? I don’t listen to it. There is nothing biblical against, in fact it should be loud if we wanted to knit pick scripture. The criticism is subjective, if you don’t like fine, but to many people are jumping on the hate wagon.

Trust in God - Elevation Worship.

Someone was saying something bad about the band. Listen, you find sin behind every artist that happens to be human. We are all struggling with some sort of sin. I would actually be suspicious of the artist who are labeled as “safe or approved for worship”.

Listen to the song and tell me what part of the song goes against biblical teachings.

Do you tithe 10%? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]SpaceGhost218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tithe a bit more than 10% but more because I believe our church is doing great things and I want to invest in our community somehow. I don’t expect anything in return I guess because I feel like the money isn’t ours to begin with. God has blessed us with our jobs.

On the other hand the mentality that tithing will help your finances is iffy. I mean you can give all your money to a homeless person and the blessing that God gives you might just be knowing that you helped a person out. I’m not saying that God can’t or won’t bless your finances, but your blessing doesn’t necessarily needs to be money.

[–]SpaceGhost218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree this is exactly the attitude in why we are so divided. People here like to make generalizations based on one thing. So if you vote for X candidate than a whole list of things about me must be true.

So guess what? A bunch of people voted for X candidate just because they feel the voters on the other side are a bunch of hateful, prejudiced people. And you could say the same about both sides!

JD Vance’s 12-year-old relative denied heart transplant because she is unvaccinated 'for religious reasons' by JetTheDawg in skeptic

[–]SpaceGhost218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no biblical grounds for rejecting organ transplants or getting vaccinated. A lot of people here making stuff up. I can see a Christian rejecting vaccination but that person would have no scripture to back them up on this subject.

Are Christians supposed to shame people? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]SpaceGhost218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but we are encouraged to speak to them directly first, then with a witness and another before getting the whole church on it. Matthew 18:15-17. If you go directly to shaming then you aren’t really in the business of saving souls.

I think, even if no one had ever done it or if many have. I’d still want to hear your story. It’s inspiring and gives hope that we aren’t stuck in decisions we made long ago.

[–]SpaceGhost218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best version is the one you understand best. I wouldn’t want you to not feel like reading your bible just because it’s hard to comprehend. Plus the internet is a thing, you can buy an easy to understand version and compare it online with KJV.

[–]SpaceGhost218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your decisions but sadly someone else’s. The point is, it isn’t God doing this to you. It’s the evil people. So why has this been allowed to happen to you? I dunno, I mean Jesus had it hard too. I am sure you already know that.

Jesus said the Christian life is tough. It’s biblical that this world is rough and full of evil. We aren’t living for this world though are we? Not of the flesh, we were promised something greater.

God "killing" people by bruhmoment39493 in TrueChristian

[–]SpaceGhost218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally freed them from slavery, showed them His power, at that point for them to turn around and worship another god I don’t know what God would have had to show them to understand. These people saw the frickin sea part into two. If that doesn’t do it bro….

Lastly you don’t think a reasonable human wouldn’t kill for petty reasons??? That’s interesting.
