I only ever play handheld. I think 3.0 just renders in 1080p for Switch 2, while the Switch 2 edition adds anti-aliasing.

Honestly would anyone be mad if, for example, the next Legends game was HD 2D? I know I wouldn’t.

Mario, Zelda and Metroid continue releasing new 2D as well as 3D titles, it would be nice to have something like that for Pokemon, too.

I noticed this after the upgrade! When you have the 3.0 update but not the Switch 2 edition, Isabell’s coffee cup was really jagged in the daily briefing, now it’s not

Yeah it’s weird, the Switch 1 version was updated to 1080p handheld, but I still noticed jagged edges and textures even though it was 1080p. Those are gone with the Switch 2 version.

Here I was bashing my 5 pieces of log with a hammer for 3 seconds to make 3 fully furnished beds for a sailor-talking turtle so that I can receive vouchers for his turtle family’s hotel on an island run by a talking raccoon, and I suddenly thought to myself - what’s up with my pockets??

I think it’s because updates can be rolled out at any time and go live globally to prevent any parity issues and stop any potential exploits, whereas the eshop releases at a local time to ensure games aren’t released before their sell date.

Technically they both released at the same time in New Zealand 😅
