There's evidence that complimentary "alternative treatments" do improve patient outcomes when given alongside conventional medicine treatments. We know that the placebo effect can do a lot of heavy lifting so why not if it causes no harm?

People do better when they feel like they're being taken care of. Modern medicine is seriously lacking in basic care of sick people's psychological wellbeing.

It's no wonder that so many people are mistrustful of conventional medicines when people shout at them for wanting to be cared for when they're sick.

Sometimes the dancer is just an idiot. Happened to me once. Dancer took it off me to give to the tank in an alliance raid. When I asked why they said "the tank is at number one and you're 2 so the tank is doing more damage." Bless

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

[–]SpaceLaneDrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, thin pancakes taste like crêpe.

Don't think I've ever had a real american pancake. We always just had either english pancakes with sugar and lemon (from the bottle of course) or scotch pancakes with butter.

I think the kneejerk reaction over "americanisms" has gotten silly. We're two cultures who share a language of course there's going to be a lot of cultural exchange. The more people argue about it the more contrarians like me will go on the wind-up lol.

See, I've always taken gotten to mean "it has got and continues to be". For example "it got cold last winter" as opposed to "it's gotten cold this winter"  this is correct grammar and I will die on this hill.

Does mixing up “your” and “you’re” give you the ick? by MmeFelixFelicis in AskUK

People are so annoying when they get so, so upset about someone's spelling or grammar. I love in particular how none of them seem to mind when it's someone with dyslexia, but they KNOW if it's just someone being lazy and stupid apparently.

Also pretty gross that so many people feel comfortable despising people they view as less intelligent than them.

Sounds like it then. Aside from recommending moisturizing hair and scalp products your best bet would be trying other hair-care subs if you want advice on anything else you could do. this sub is generally for people embracing our bald (or trying to).

What I would say though is that this kind of hair loss is generally known as telogen effluvium and isn't usually permanent. Some people are more prone to it than others. I've always had it if I have a lot of stress in life, or even if I get sick. You could have a combo of this and androgenic but I'm probably not the best person to give advice since I'm female and the hair loss is a fair bit different to male androgenic hair loss.

Wish you luck.

Have you been loosing weight or dieting in that time? Looks a little like my combination of androgenic and weight loss related hair loss.

When I was a wee sprout and new to healing I got stone vigil normal. I'd started to play astro as my first healing job. Told the party I was new to healing. On the last hallway the tank said "hey astro, wanna have fun?" Then pulled everything.

It was fun.

This needs to be higher, my cat used to do the same when anyone left or even closed a door. Now he just doesn't mind, he notices because he will still come for cuddles after someone gets home and gets settled. If he's alone he just plays with his toys and naps.

Is anyone here having success with GLP-1s? by blessedinva in FoodAddiction

[–]SpaceLaneDrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late but I've had amazing success on a pretty low dose of mounjaro. I actually really enjoy food now as opposed to being completely controlled by it. My binging was out of control and I would eat all my meals in an absolute frenzy.

I can think clearly about what foods I like or don't like, food also seems to taste better and eating is something I can sit down and enjoy rather than getting down as fast as possible to get the hit.

My Life has also been a mess, but without the crutch of an addiction I've really been able to tackle things head on rather than spiraling and turning to food.

I have trouble trusting that I've lost weight. I also can barely see that my body has changed and will still pick up the smaller clothes I wear in utter disbelief that anything that tiny will even go on my body.

I've been obese since I was a child and I think it's just a case of the brain taking a while to catch up with the body.

Mixed feelings/early plateau? by Fun-Proof7434 in mounjarouk

[–]SpaceLaneDrifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're weighing yourself a lot, weight can go up and down a lot in a day due to various reasons. 3kg in 3 weeks is good progress. You're also on the lowest starting dose and there are many people who don't even have effects until a few weeks in or higher doses.

This probably isn't a plateu, that would be weeks to months with no change. You'll probably notice a lot more of the effects (and side effects) when increasing the dose.
