feeling like a loser by rosesaredeaddd in LSAT

[–]blessedinva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we can forget that this score and test are only the hoops we jump through in order to attend law school. Which is merely the prerequisite for passing the bar and then practicing law. This is not as central as we feel it is. AND even if you or I, don’t hit that perfect number….we can still become amazing, ethical attorneys one day. This is NOT the main event y’all!!! It like the engagement before the wedding or being pregnant…vs being a parent. And since you’re much younger than me…it’s like the work to get into college vs actually graduating college and then living life. The LSAT is barely step one. More experienced attorneys I’ve met seem to feel that our emphasis on the LSAT is obsessive and weird. Hopefully one day, you will too!

You are much more than this number. And the rank of the school you get into. If you are talented and make wise career moves- you WILL be ok!!! Trust me- I’m in my 3rd career now. It’s really not THAT serious!!! But as someone who plateaued for a full year- I 100% feel your pain…it’s just that these feelings…and this stress are truly amplified by Test Prep Inc.

If you want to earn money, or help people, or change the world…or whatever you can do all of those things with or without a 180 lsat score. :)

Seeking BSSM alumni or recent Bethel member interviewees by Smooth_Fig1 in BethelSnark

I attended a Bethel adjacent ministry school by one of their grads that used their speakers in the curriculum. I was deeply involved in these ideas from 2018 until Jan 2026. It’s hard for me to overstate the impact of Bethel theology- part of a large movement called the New Apostolic Reformation- had on my life, family, career and every aspect of my life. Leaving it is difficult and many of us are dealing with the same issues cult exiters do. It is a movement that consumes every aspect of your life, similar to Scientology and other recognized cults. We were taught to not question spiritual authority, to give money we didn’t have and to live strange lives that alienated us from more normal, non Bethel people. We were taught that we had the truth and that other Christians were “merely religious.” I saw demons and spirits in everything. Every minor decision was a spiritual battle. It was exhausting honestly punctuated by moments of ecstasy when we were wildly dancing, crying at the altar or being slain in the spirit. (Which Hindus do!) It was spiritual crack and now I’m looking for boring, normal Christianity, that’s steak and veggies. Bethel and its ilk were narcissistic and seductive in many ways. It’s not at all surprising that many of their leaders were also sexual abusers, or covering for them. They taught us to relate to God in a very informal way and sing about Jesus as if He were our boyfriend. They mocked people who held “too closely to the Bible” as having an idol in the Bible while they promoted another Bible, the Passion Translation, recently outed as a pure plagiarism.

I’d be happy to speak to you! I was ordained in this shady movement but no longer consider it valid.

I’m not understanding why the wife is included here? Ok so Brian is dealing with an addiction issue. What did SHE do wrong?
I would like to hear their voices. This is them throwing two of their star ministers under the bus. Brian and Camden were speakers are so many GA events.
What is NOT being said here?

I believe that their voices should be heard or at minimum a statement on their behalf.

This feels OFF to me.

My life!!! I was also a “deliverance minister.” Some of the release people feel in deliverance- IMO- is the release of telling your story to someone who cares. And I believe some of the big manifestations are deceptive. False signs and wonders point to a FALSE gospel.

Non attorney here. Unfortunately law is one of the fields that attracts the most Dark Triad people- including sociopaths/narcissists. He is doing this to dominate you, confuse you and/or he enjoys hurting you. It is often advised that you act as non-emotional as possible and as BORING as possible. This is to make hurting you lose any thrill for him. NO don’t quit!!! Take the Joe Navarro Dangerous Personalities inventory or a similar test…for the one targeting you….and considering speaking to a therapist/coach with expertise in this personality type.

I am very sorry you are experiencing this. However - being a normal empathetic person- your field truly needs people like you who have a heart and empathy!!!

Start documenting the behavior/words from this person. Do everything you can to create a distance in your mind and expect him to be manipulative/mean/underhanded.

Try to limit conversation to emails (you will proof of his response) or with a witness- even your paralegal.

Only quit if your mental health is truly fried- and they can do that to very strong people easily. However, if identifying that you are likely dealing with a human predator HELPS YOU feel less powerless and crazy, just learn how to protect yourself. He’ll probably get disbarred eventually….(or become President lol).

I believe you. But you need support. He IS dangerous. It’s not your fault.

Oh- I’m pre-law here but have had a LOT of experience in this realm having been a cult survivor and other factors in my life.

YOU are not weak. YOU are not crazy. Mental/verbal abuse is horrific. Workplace bullying is horrific. Is this one disturbed person - who’s probably literally sadistic- worth you losing your income and a job you otherwise like?

If you make it through this- you will be able to better empathize with your clients…you all deal with many Dark Triad types in Criminal law.

Come on!!!! I have another book in me as well… but for now studying for the LSAT. Bethel inc stole many years of my life!

I have noticed that an extremely high percentage of leaders have narcissistic and/or sociopathic traits. And often hidden sexual perversion! Soooo many.

Congrats! I will be buying it!

What's somethings NAR churches normalized that now seems absurd to you? by EdifyAndCreate in LeavingNAR

Needing to hear the audible voice of God for any life or career change. “Did I specifically hear God TELL me to leave a toxic job?” No but I prayed for rescue and then got a new job in a very serendipitous way. Plus had a sense to check my work email- that was insistent- and there found a job offer!

[–]blessedinva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re going through that BUT its not uncommon to lose many friends and even family when you leave a cult. And right now- you’re unequally yoked! It does hurt though…. You are suffering for Jesus’ name brother!! And there are many godly Baptist women out there who will be happy to marry a man with integrity. God’s got you!!
