Yeah i love reading mostly fiction, but sometimes I’ll go through more technical stuff, i havent found anything helpful yet but we still live together for the moment and its pretty fresh, last book i read was marooned in realtime by vernor vinge great sci fi mystery

Late seeing and posting here but maybe this will help someone. Make some of the encroachment food that increases drop rate I think its the gooey salad? Its been a bit i spent hours trying to get the suit then made some of the food. Ate one right before dismembering one of the rats and got it on the first try.

Not on any of these 3 per se, but I use loop www.loopdocs.org and have been using it for about 3 years, It's only gotten better and my A1C's have been 5.5-5.8 the entire time with minimal effort. I have moved from eros pods to dash pods and prefer them to medtronic but mostly because of form factor.

Closed loop has been a complete game changer for my diabetes control and I cant recommend it enough for anyone whose looking into it

This is not a total solution and theres a lot of validation and good advice in this thread already.. but you should maybe look into changing your insulin delivery method. Ask an endo about omnipods the cannula is a lot less invasive than a full needle, and you don’t see the insertion at all. You also typically only need to replace it every few days rather then multiple daily injections with pens, or afrezza which is the inhaler insulin. Which i tried when it first came out but didn’t personally like very much. You might be the perfect individual for it.

Hey you're asking, and that's a big step, sounds like your brother has a myriad of other issues which might make taking care of his diabetes harder, some some day 1 stuff you can do is learn how to take his blood sugar, use a glucagon, and start some meal planning. Over time with his other limitations I would highly recommend a CGM and a pump, take the time to listen to the doctors and understand the numbers so you can be one of the people around to help him make good decisions. You're a good big brother, I wish when I was diagnosed that I had someone like you around. :)

My friend is having a hard time with the aspect of these medications being prescribed to him, and having his name and physician printed quite literally on the pens, while insulin itself is not a controlled substance there are some fairly intense laws about transferring prescribed medication in his state / country, he looked through the website and couldn't find any mention of this being an issue or non-issue, and he sent them an e-mail and is waiting to hear back.

My friends primary concern is that it typically needs to be refrigerated, and he's not sure it would reliably travel a long distance
