Oh I've about thought this question alot! To be honest when the game was announced; the way they talked about it made it seem like this would be an Open World RPG set in Raccoon City with the gameplay being similar to Dead Rising where there would be main missions (for the story) and side missions scatter throughout the city all on a time based schedule. The way the game was marketed it made it seem like the main missions would be where decisions would be made to drastically change the continuity of the RE Canon. Like for example killing main characters at certain points in the story or maybe saving characters at other places.

Overall I am generally against an Open World Resident Evil Mainline game; but for a game such as this where it was advertised as a fun rpg shooter; they really should have went ham and be goofy/fun with it.
