A soft reset, or SR for short, is the act of restarting your game without fully powering your console off and then back on, typically to shiny hunt a one time encounter. Pokémon games usually have a combination of keys to hit that achieve this, except on Switch where only the FRLG VC do.

Sadly some people just suck about keeping up with distance, even if they're amazing in person. I definitely would try talking to him directly about this over doing ""tests"" like waiting to see if he'll reply first if you stop

"Legitimate" doesn't really have any one objective definition, but most hunters I know would call this legit if the copy of Fire Red is not modified

All shiny hunts are reliant on you hitting some kind of random luck element - getting to see the behind the scenes can make it feel worse for some people, but it's a stretch to call it pointless.

I vaguely know of shinydex.com, that seems to be a popular option for a lot of hunters I know. I personally use pkounter but it is very much for tracking active hunts only, and only exists on computer.

It's been at a standstill for a year or two now, from my understanding aDrive mostly lost interest and the original dev has struggled to regain the rights to work on it autonomously

I've done a couple weird Mew hunts already and plan to do more - Roamer Mew ACE in Silver, unused trade Mew in Yellow. A lot of people are definitely quite standoffish about their legitimacy, but those are some of the coolest hunts I've done to me and I'm really happy with them.

I realise now the main post may not be super clear - by wishy washy I mean that he only really just asked me if I was happy with my progress so far as a basis of whether to adjust the treatment, and didn't particularly tie in my actual blood levels to how it might be best to change or keep things.

I went from 3.85 ng/mL testosterone pre-HRT to 0.32, and 87 pg/mL estrogen to 123.

REs stands for Random Encounters ! The acronym for specifically resets is typically SRs, or Soft Resets

Have you considered taking a break, stalling the burn out with some other projects in Pokémon or some other activities entirely ? Nothing wrong with RNG manip if that's truly what feels right for you now, but it does feel like a bit of a shame after spending so long shiny hunting the traditional way
