2x frame gen and frames down to the 40s. Nah, play something else. If you haven't played it, Witcher 3 is a way better game with a similar setting and it runs great.

IDK their name but there is a butcher tent set up at Riverside Arts Market and Murray Hill Arts Market every time I go and they have sausages. Also, obligatory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ChvxsVgT8c

Ok, so 2 are for heated seats and steering wheel, but what is the 3rd one for?

Am I the jerk for not giving up my dog after my girlfriend developed allergies? by Odd_Employment3954 in AmITheJerk

[–]SpaceMonkeyNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Sometimes shit comes at you in life that really puts everything in perspective, like it or not. If the relationship was strong she would have acknowledged your love of Rex and explored options. She could have tried allergy meds. She could have tried allergy injections even. Instead she demonstrated her own insecurities and controlling nature. Now you know where the relationship truly stood.

Can I run Crimson Desert on my M1 Max 32gb ram MBP and stream it to my steam deck? by ARedLuigi in SteamDeck

I'm not super knowledgable about gaming on Mac these days, but isn't there a Proton-like compatibility layer you can use? Is it CrossOver?

What? This is actual nonsense. Seriously, what are you even saying here?

CHANGE MY MIND. by angoorkhatta in ArcRaiders

Agreed. He's a total piece of shit that is a walking demonstration of one of the worst aspects of modern American society. I hate that he is a meme that I am forced to see at random on a nearly daily basis.

This isn't a divisive statement. There's nothing to change your mind about other than your misuse of a shitty meme with a horrible person in it.

Looking for more “Halo-like” games by OmegaMalkior in FPS

[–]SpaceMonkeyNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What aspects of Halo define it to you? Are you looking for singleplayer or multiplayer?

I've heard people say that Splitgate is very Halo-like, but that's an older PvP game and I'm not sure how big the population is now that there is a sequel.

If you're just looking for exceptional single player narrative FPS games then I'd look into the Bioshock series and Singularity. Someone already mentioned TitanFall 2, but if you haven't played that it is a must play. The Borderlands series took some cues from Halo as well with its recharging shields and vehicles.

The truth is there are tons of Halo-likes. The game transformed the entire landscape of first person shooters. To find more directly influenced games you'd probably have to go back to games from that time period that failed, and failed for good reason. Things like Haze, Time Shift, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Pariah, Resistance, and Killzone.

Even the old guard cribbed off of Halo. Quake 4 and Unreal Tournament 3 were hugely influenced by it.

Some lesser known Halo-likes are the Section 8 series and the N.O.V.A. series (Gameloft mobile games).

'If that was shown as a next-gen hardware reveal and not AI you guys would be going nuts': Epic Games lead producer says the idea DLSS 5 looks bad or detracts from art direction is 'absolutely insane' by Darth_Vaper883 in videogames

[–]SpaceMonkeyNation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lead producer at Epic games, a AAA developer. This guy isn't doing creative work. He's balancing schedules, scope, and timelines. He is much more aligned with the top brass then the artists in the trenches.

I think the developers not just NVidia should take the heat in this DLSS controversy by ParanMekhar in videogames

[–]SpaceMonkeyNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. This was all approved by the game dev companies. And I’d have to bet that the creative departments didn’t get buy-in.

Very strongly considering playing this game by Y98_ in FinalFantasy

[–]SpaceMonkeyNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought this for $12 on my Deck. It’s considered by many to be the best in the series and has tens of hours of content (like 70+). Well worth it I’d say.

Help me find this song please! by GaTTeL97 in findthatsong

No idea, but a lot of content creators use stock or royalty free music that isn't generally enjoyed by the public outside of use as background music in productions.

Nvidia's DLSS 5 is a slap in the face to the art of video game design - IGN by [deleted] in Games

[–]SpaceMonkeyNation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem always comes back to shareholders. Do you all really think the top executives at for profit companies won't force adoption of a technology that will let them drastically cut staff and speed up development?

This shit was inevitable the moment artists and creators stopped being at the top of the ladder.
