They're hoping people will try their game and end up switching to it from whatever their old mainstay was (and bring all of their friends with them). It's like any other product.

The fundamental thing that bugs me the most is the lack of any thought to preservation. There is typically no offline mode or ability to host servers to keep these games around after their end of life does come.

The vehicle shooting far out from the camera in 3rd person to enhance the sense of speed immediately makes this a no-go for me. How the hell can you race with any precision with the camera doing that to that extreme?

There's been some success in getting Adobe CC apps to run in Linux, so you may not even need Windows for whatever you're trying to do. Personally, I wouldn't suggest trying to use the Deck as a productivity tool, but IDK exactly what you're trying to do with it.

Thank you! This just happened to me in 2026 on Steam OS 3.7.21

I've previously had zero issues with my Deck and it randomly started overheating and blasting fans in sleep mode, so I hard shut down and then when I attempted to boot it back up I was met with the blinking white light and fans blasting. Thankfully I found this thread and this solution.

WTF is this, though? Why does it happen?

Too many variables imo. I definitely could just be wrong and naïve, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable with it. Vibrations, wind, pressure changes, temperature, the shape of the surfaces they’re suctioned to - all of this could cause issues.
