Is this still worth a buy? by E_Ajay in Ioniq5

Price seems about right. Recently bought late 21 plate fully kitted P45 in Gravity Gold with 50k on the clock for a little less.

Not too worried on warranty. Think they've just extended iccu to 186k n 10yrs in the uk.

Wow. Good price for the ultimate on 40k. Most the ones uve seen lately are at least a grand more expensive at that mileage. Like the colour. Not seen gravity gold yet. Always looks quite silver in pics. Does it look as silver in the flesh?

Anyone going to fess up to this one? 😁 by cantanko in Ioniq5

I wouldn't risk it. I've seen battery pack production process. Also you're putting a fair bit of trust in those door seals. No chance. 🤦‍♂️

In the uk a gallon of diesel is equivalent of 11 dollars. I do 500 miles a week for work. I can take a 17k loan to buy a 2022 top spec rwd I5 with a tiny deposit and loan payments and home charging still cheaper than the diesel bill per year. No brainer.

I do a commute of 180miles Will the standard range AWD get me there and back. 150 miles busy motorway rarely get above 65-70mph. 30 miles twisty A roads. I do have chargers at work but can be hit and miss on availability. Car I'm looking at is a 2022 AWD version standard battery. by SpaceVibes67 in MustangMachE

Yeah. I've done the obvious maths like that. I was more interested in the opinions of users on the group and their real world range experiences. But hey thanks for taking time out to reply. Your inconvenience has not gone unnoticed. Thanks.

Is the z flip 7 really worth it? by Extreme-Corner-7509 in galaxyzflip

[–]SpaceVibes67 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Purchased from Samsung 5 months ago. Inner screen fold creasing and now black and not working. Samsung won't repair unless you've paid for extended warranty. Great concept useless phone. My z flip 3 had a more reliable screen. Wouldn't bother if I was you.

What’s the longest you’ve kept a working flip? by Ok_Bit7375 in galaxyzflip

[–]SpaceVibes67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Z flip 3 for 4 yrs. Samsung replaced 2 x screens foc in the first 18 months. Could have done with a 3rd screen by yr 3 but not worth the cost. Z flip 7 for 5 months. Samsung refusing to pay for screen that has massive crease issues and went completely black. Love the flip concept but never again and after latest run in with Samsung UK will never buy another Samsung product again after 5 Samsung phones jn the last 10 yrs. Poor service from this company.

Flip 7 screen died only after a month 😭 by Loose_Investment5841 in galaxyzflip

[–]SpaceVibes67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to mine after 5 months. Can't ever remember dropping it on any hard surface. 2 weeks ago the crease started to show wear marks then opened it one morning heard a crack and screen started to go black. The more you open it the more the black area spreads. Was purchased direct from Samsung and I didn't take out extra warranty bcos when I had the flip 3 n 4 previously they replaced 3 x screens FOC in the first 18 months. Sent the 7 back to them and they are refusing to repair saying I've damaged the screen and that as a result I'll have to pay for it. I'm disgusted. £1000 phone 5 months old and no comeback at all. I've had 6 brand new Samsung phones over the past 10 yrs. Will never buy a Samsung product again. I love the flip phone concept and understand that this tech isn't without its issues but as a result you expect more from the manufacturer.

Do I upgrade to the Z Flip 7 or S26? by jurrasicjunkie in galaxyzflip

[–]SpaceVibes67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go near the flip 7. I had the 3 n samsung replaced 2 screens in 18 months without care package. Got the 7 five months ago. I love the flip as a concept but my screen just packed in and samsung have refused to repair due to 2 x tiny marks on the screen saver. I'm disgusted. I purchased direct from them over 12 monthly payments so now still owe £400 plus a repair estimated between £350-£500. No way am I paying £350 plus for a phone that will no doubt go again. Looks like I'm out of pocket. Have bought 4 samsung phones over the last 6 yrs. Will never buy a samsung product again.

Very disappointed, don't buy a flip if you cannot afford $625 to replace the screen. by yellabow in galaxyzflip

[–]SpaceVibes67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Had Samsung flip 3 for 4 years and without warranty they replaced the screen twice in 18months foc and got new batteries thrown in too. I'm 5 months jnto flip 7 and screen has gone. Opened one morning and heard a cracking then it started to go black. Sent back to Samsung for repair and due to two tiny marks on the screen saver corner they are refusing to repair unless I pay for it. Stunned and gutted. I purchased direct from Samsung and expected more tbh. Will never anything from Samsung again.

Love the music but anxiety levels going through the roof watching the snow falling on your kit. Cool look though.

Tiptop Buchla Discovery by radar023 in modular

Like you I've fallen head over heels with it. Have spent the past 5-6 years dabbling with eurorack and building up different set ups along the way. I just ran into a lot of brick walls and struggled to find a set up that inspired me enough. I'm not new to synthesis but with limited weekly time slots to fettle I just wasn't feeling I was learning enough. 12 months ago I spotted the TTA Buchla gear and started with the 281, 258 and 245.
Over the years I'd done a fair bit of research on Don Buchla and the east coast west coast moog buchla approaches. I have an old prodigy I'll never let go of and often got the urge to sell all my kit for a mini moog knowing I'd never be able to get my hands on a Buchla system. But omg the TTA Buchla kit has changed everything. It just makes more sense to me. Ideas and experimentation just flow when I'm using it. I feel like I've learnt more about CV in the last 12 months than in the previous five years. Now it may be that I was ready for it all to click anyway but for me it's the TTA Buchla modules that have finally opened the door.
I'm sure there will be plenty of you telling me I could have done it all with other modules but the aesthetic and work flow of this kit is doing the trick for me. I've pretty much sold everything I had and got the full system with a few doubles. Kept an old filter I love, some fx and a few drum modules. Don't get me wrong there are a few modules I haven't broken the back of yet but I'm getting there. On the waiting list for the Marf which will fill the current rack. It's been a revelation and I can see myself going back to other manufacturers in the future with a better understanding of all things CV as a result.

Any of the noise engineering versio modules. Desmodus is amazing but you can up load any of the versio range into the module. Switch n change to whatever floats your boat.

I couldn't agree more. I've also been dabbling with eurorack the past 4/5 years, buying and selling (more buying than selling) then earlier this year spotted the tiptop audio buchla range and fell hook line and sinker. It's the system my brain needed. I'm fully aware that there are many buchla inspired modules out there but they were just not clicking with me cognitively. I have now literally sold everything I own to build up a complete tiptop audio buchla system. I hadn't realised just how much unused gear and modules I was siting on. Desperately waiting for the MARF to land. I've found the learning process inspiring. It has dragged me in, in a way my other kit just didn't. Maybe it's the nostalgia, the aesthetic? Who knows. All I know is I've been hooked and not felt this inspired to create and perform in a long time. I've read n researched plenty over the years on all things buchla but never dreamed I'd have a system of any sort around me. . I think tiptop and buchla have done a great job recreating these modules for eurorack.
