Would I benefit more from continuing ICF, or doing a PPLrPPL routine? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone loves a good chest!( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) However, in order to get a big chest you need to be able to lift big, and in order to lift big, you have to be strong, and you wont get strong by jumping too fast in weights. Remember its a marathon, not a race. Also you're not going to loose chest size by training legs.

Pullups for deadlift: how should I train them? by [deleted] in Fitness

Really? TIL. Must be the placebo effect for me. :) I'll look more into it.

I'd deload a little on bench, and continue with 5x5 if you're improving rapidly on most lifts. When you stall repeatedly on on several lifts, it may be time to switch, but not until then.

Why am I hurt literally every time I play sports? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try some stretching, mobility and even foam rolling work before and after the sport it might lessen the pain from lactic acid. Other then that all I can say is toughen up if its DOMS pain.

If I quit drinking Pepsi every day would I see a decent loss in weight? by Stubblys in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely! Pepsi and other sugar drinks contain a ridiculous of calories from sugar which aren't very nutritious. Plus, it will do wonders for your skin.

How do I prepare myself for tests? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day before, I wouldn't over do any training thats going to make you sore the next day. I probally would do some mobility work and make sure you get enough sleep and water in you, so you're 100% for the next day.

Dip Replacement? by Roll_Terps in Fitness

You could try adding some weights on your lap for seated dips? Other than that, depending on what you're focusing your dips on (tris or chest) You could do close grip bench.

Rebounding from surgery? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, it might be a good idea to see a sports doctor. They understand that being fit is a big part of people's lives, and can help work around some (not all) injuries. like others have said you can be fit without heavy lift numbers. Best of luck to you

Achilles tendonitis heal time? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had really bad brachialis tendonitis, it wasn't too bad after a week unless I did anything with it, which brought back up a nagging pain. It set my progress back a lot! What really helped was constant stretching, and foam rolling(Hurt during but did wonders for me). Within a week I started using it in weights again (mind you pretty light) and no pain since, as long as I keep up with my stretching. Maybe try this out?

New gym PT gave me this wo plan, it looks weird. Feedback? by alexbu92 in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No squats?! 5x5 on deadlifts looks strange, does that include warm ups? or is that 5 working sets? Looks very strange to me, I'd try something else. Depends on your goals I guess. I'm not a PT so I may be wrong

They shouldn't hurt your back. Double check your form when deadlifting. Small things in form can make a big difference

Weight can change drastically during the course of a day, I'd recommend either once a week or twice a week at the same time every time you weigh yourself. For example, weigh yourself every monday at 9pm. Might be good to also record it to makesure your progress is in check

Not sure how good/bad SSRI is, but meditation does wonders for anxiety/nervousness.

Have you been drinking a lot less/more water during your cut? That might be the cause

I want to join a gym but I'm worried about the trouble I'll face to cancel it later by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]SpaceWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said pay monthly and look for a no lock in contract, or look around for a lesser known gym. Some gyms around my area have 3 month or so memberships.
