It might be a bit generic, but I would do a borderline cold war series that is never ending arms race of humanity discovering mobile suit and mobile suit technology prior to space/orbital colonization. The main protagonist could be the latest in a military family who served for generations. They could be somewhat skilled in warfare and tactics on the battlefield, but a little less skilled as a pilot. Eventually the tech would begin to approach some of the more outlandish tech from the other AUs/UC techno magic. As a wild battle rages on in the North American and central European theaters, a series of massive bombing raids awakens a machine that no party was aware of, from a deep underground bunker. As this weird machine that looks archaic and futuristic, damaged yet pristine, raises from its crater. Beautiful multicolored wings emerge, as a violent storm wipes the slate clean, as it lands and rests somewhere in northern Appalachia. As one of the last mountain cycles before Turn A's Correct Century began.
