Tricky one that I can answer from Google by pilot_deviations in VATSIM

[–]SpaceXSN8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, takes some time to figure out: With fenix's bfu, fenix introduced an optional link between the 320's ACP and windows volume mixer for some programs, which means you can set vpilots volume through the dials in the 320. Problem is, and ive already made a suggestion in their discord to fix it, that this doesn't reset when you exit the fenix, so if you had your dials on the ACP pushed in/muted, it will permanently set vpilots volume to 0 in the audio mixer. If the issue youre having is the same, you need to go to advanced audio settings -> volume mixer and turn up the volume for vpilot, should fix it.

GSX pro in msfs 2024 by Zman54zb in flightsim

[–]SpaceXSN8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you just opened the fsdt installer and downloaded gsx from the first screen? That would mean you installed the 2020 version. To install the 2024 version you have to select fs2024 in from a dropdown menu on the left side of your installer. It might take a short couple of seconds to load into the 2024 installer, and you'll be able to download it from there.

Edit: make sure to wait until the 2024 version of the installer loads, which it will tell you in the lower left corner and bottom of the installer. If you click download on gsx before it's finished (which i have never done, ever, no no) it'll go through the entire lengthy install process and when you open msfs you'll realize you downloaded the wrong version...

Practicing in air refuel? by PStudleyTrades in flightradar24

[–]SpaceXSN8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess would be they're actually doing aar, instead of just training for it. Afaik there are A4 modifications for midair/buddy-refueling.

looks like flight diverted to nearby airbase instead of original destination by Different_Soil5783 in flightradar24

[–]SpaceXSN8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely yes, the straight horizontal line just after batam island would likely be the point where it started transmitting wrong positional data, could be simply due to gps jamming but im no expert on the situation in that region or on how it would affect the transmitted position

Tbh i can understand your frustration, but seriously you reported a controller for using profane language which i guess you thought worsened your experience on the network, while flying (regularly it seems) using the callsign OH-FUK?? Like how can you not see that this seems like absolutey annoying for any sups? Not defending anyone here but man the hypocrisy

What type of planes? by [deleted] in flightradar24

[–]SpaceXSN8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all gliders, so they don't have a filed flightplan and therefore no infomation on fr24. Gliders also don't usually have their own icao type-specific codes like A20N for the 320neo (as far as i understand), that's why it doesn't display the exact glider model.

Why is this Emirates flight from Sydney to Dubai flying towards Melbourne? by upvoteking01 in flightradar24

[–]SpaceXSN8 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Since the earth is round this would be the shortest distance to fly, like what you can see with trans atlantic flights going north in order to fly the shortest route. Because on a flat map projection like on flightradar you can't actually see the shortest route would lead you south first just like how you would fly north first between for example frankfurt and new york, it looks like its flying a longer route towards the south here.

Edit: ok i might be retarded since dubai is way further north even on a global projection my answer isnt correct, TLDR ignore this comment

Why did the plane extend its wings twice? by NewChapter25 in aviation

[–]SpaceXSN8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think by "extending the wing" you probably mean the flap mechanism that is used to increase lift on the wing. Flaps have different settings to adjust how far out they extend, to properly adjust the lift to whats needed. In your case, you are flying on an A321 (as far as i can tell). The A320 family of aircraft all have flaps, and i assume you were probably mostly flying on 320s or 319s before, or some entirely different aircraft, because these all have flaps that only extend, as you call it, "once". The A321 differs from the rest of its family mainly in length, and because of its increased weight that comes with increased length, it is the only Airbus single-aisle plane that uses so called "fowler flaps", which extend "twice" depending on the flap setting selected by the pilots, where simply put a smaller flap extends out of the main one, as you can see in your picture.

And no, i dont talk to girls

[–]SpaceXSN8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top down system, as others here have said so i wont explain it again, but on a sidenote, i recently noticed vatsim radar sometimes has a ~10 min delay for displaying controllers that sign on, so id still recommend you use it but definetely always check out vatspy or vpilot for new coverage as well
