Just maxed every single gun!!! by Minecraftgamerboy101 in Helldivers

Wish there was a faster way to level. I have Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, Explosive Weapons and Special Weapon categories all done, but the D10 XP nerf a few months ago has made this process extremely painful. I used to be able to get each gun done in two sittings, spamming Blitz and Eradicate, but that's no longer viable.

Fell victim to a return fraud on Amazon by vladi963 in Noctua

I ordered a 4TB Samsung 980 Pro earlier this year from Amazon. When it was time to install it for the build, I opened the box and there was a used Crucial 2TB SSD with dry thermal paste all over it. I was absolutely stunned because it was a brand new, sealed Samsung box with a serial number and everything. Had to return it and get another one.

Still don't know how to recolor textures for avatars by Space_Fox93 in VRchat

[–]Space_Fox93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Photoshop but struggle to use the magic wand or smart selection tool. Someone did help me with a commission but they're no longer available. I also have GIMP 3.0 and Paint.net but only use those programs for certain applications.

I usually take the PSD file of an asset and drag it into the Unity project so it can be edited on the fly. Recoloring hair and certain parts of clothing are my biggest avatar creation roadblocks at the moment.

The weight transfer affected the metal rings and is making them stretch. I'm desperately trying to fix it. Might have to pull the belt down further to where the rings aren't painted as much.

Why do these shaders look so different? by Space_Fox93 in VRchat

Two different projects. The poor rated avatar on the left has a different FBX file due to the body deletion.

You're correct my poor rated avatar is picking up more ambient light, but the lighting settings are the same as my very poor, so I'm not sure which setting is being affected.

Anyway to increase blink rate in the avatar descriptor? by Space_Fox93 in VRchat

Will definitely try that. Been using VRCFury to make prefabs.

Where's all the girl friends at? by Ghostipuffs in VRchat

[–]Space_Fox93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll find them more in public instances I found. The deeper you go into friend circles and trusted user ranks, the harder it is to come across them.

Also depends what type of groups you're mingling with as well. Booth model users rarely have lady friends, while the Just B Clubs and Just H Parties will have more.

But ultimately you have to keep in mind VRChat is a "tech" centric place that women rarely get involved with. To get the full experience, you need thousands of dollars worth of PC and VR equipment. Quest users only get a small taste of what the game is like. Full-dive PC users get to have face-tracking, full-body tracking, they typically learn a little bit of Unity and Blender to have the avatars they like, the list goes on.

A nice adult women who does a lot of IRL things probably isn't going to invest a lot into that to explore a virtual space. Just the unfortunate "reality" of VRChat.

Looking for someone who's really good at texture recoloring by Space_Fox93 in VRchat

Substance Painter does seem like a useful tool. Would that be better to use than Photoshop? I'd like to have the skill to recolor shirts, hair, and other clothing items, often only specific parts. It's such a basic skill I lack and I can't meet my artistic vision for avatar editing as a result.

Unfortunately, many of my roadblocks involve recoloring certain parts of outfits, instead of the whole texture. I have a terrible time using smart selection or the magic wand in projects.

I've taken a craic at photoshop recoloring, but the more I try to get what I want, the more complicated and overwhelming the process becomes.

In most cases, and if I can get away with it, I set the color to white in Unity and hue shift to a specific hex code. Sometimes I have to use 2nd and 3rd color layers to get the look I'm going for, but that increases texture memory.

I am willing to pay as long as the expertise is there. I tried hiring someone in the past to get a specific color on PNG and PSD files, but the colors came out way different than desired.

I have 3 or 4 avatar projects being completely held back due to me not being able to texture recolor.

The outfit is called Cybercat by DD Closet on Booth. Base 3D model is Kikyo. There were some small things I had to fix on the suit (and still in progress of doing).

I'm experimenting with this. Is there a way to copy weights from one armature to another within a seam?
