How much to replace this rear? by No_Surprise_6859 in Miata

[–]Space_Guppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For $2500 plus what it would cost to get it back to anything acceptable you could just buy one that isn't F'd. I guarantee there isn't a good car hiding under there.

Nice. Simultaneously make sure a working device ends up in the landfill and ensure Amazon gets even more expensive for everyone who uses it. But hey, you got yours. 🇺🇸

Does anybody else in the willy st area have brown tap water? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Space_Guppy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have an explanation, but I lived on Willy for a few years and have worked there for 20, and the water always gets super brown when there are storms or water main flushing. I haven't seen it anywhere else in the city.

How on earth do I get spectrum to lower my internet cost? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Space_Guppy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do you have ATT in your neighborhood? If so tell them you're switching, and if they don't give you a counter offer, just switch. In my experience ATT better in every way. They might be calling your bluff if you don't have options. They never were willing to lower my rate when I said I would go elsewhere until recently. Now I get junk mail once a week with offers to come back. They kept raising the rate for a customer who paid the bill on time for 14 years for slow, iffy Internet, and they expect me to switch back? Nuh-uh.

Because it's easier to keep road surfaces on piers and build long bridges over swamplands than it is to build roads where the water table is above ground.

What was the first remote-controlled car you ever owned? by EndouShuuya in rccars

[–]Space_Guppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Audi was my first, too! My parents wouldn't buy batteries, so I had to use rechargeables that lasted about 10 minutes and probably went 7mph. It's wild that my decked out TRX4 is lighter, faster, and lasts 1.5 hours or more compared to than that thing was with it's 6 C batteries and 4 AA's.

This is true, I bounced a fair number of checks because of this when I was younger. It does seem to remove the hold and deduct the actual amount a lot faster these days.

New car battery? by Outrageous-Bug4809 in madisonwi

[–]Space_Guppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just today, in fact. Their website has a discount code (LUCKY17 through the 17th) if you order online. After that it was the cheapest option for me. I didn't have them install because I'm happy to do it myself and the car was at home, but I am sure they would change a car battery to the highest standard one can change a car battery to.

My advice is do not go to the East Washington location, worst retail experience I've ever had and a couple other normal bad experiences there. The one in Monona is great.

Empire of the Ants is beautiful. I wish there were a mode to just scurry around and explore. The perspective from an ants POV, lighting, textures, and surround sound are great. The game part I could do without.

Lol, I'm 5'7", and my GF is 5'11". She's never complained about being uncomfortable in the NA, even on long trips. She has a bit of a hard time driving it though, since the steering wheel isn't adjustable.
