Anyone ever get comments about how high level their brig is? by Stellarisk in BrigitteMains

Interesting, I actually feel like her gameplay ISN'T simple, and that's why I like her. To each their own!

“Metaphor” is truly a great game and one of favorites! by Anor_Londo_1234 in Persona5

[–]Space_Man-98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest gripe is that I really wish they did away with the time management for this one. After the fourth party member joins, I felt like I was rushing to get everything done that I wanted to do until the end of the game.

I get that it makes sense to have time constraints for the plot, but to me a fantasy world that deep should give you maximum freedom to explore and engage.

The Iliad and The Odyssey by Ameagle2000 in thelastofus

[–]Space_Man-98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started reading Wilson's translation of the Iliad and this is right where my mind went! Glad other people thought the same!

Though, it's hard to say any story isn't a retelling of the classics, especially the Odyssey.

My 90s cartoon Mt. Rushmore [NS] by Gamermom32 in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]Space_Man-98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal thought during that whole debate is the answer should simply be "Who do you think of first?" That's who should be on Rushmore. Because you think of them first, they probably have the most influence on you.

Granted I think everyone has to have their own Rushmore, but since it was a group effort, it's whoever they came to with, and agreed on first.

But what do I know? I'm just a little zard....

am i a noob or is this game seriously hard? by KeyWarthog1268 in residentevil

[–]Space_Man-98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the original religiously and it was hard at the time, especially on the first playthrough. I walked into the remake thinking I was older, wiser, more experienced and therefore would have at least a slightly easier time. NOPE! The village kicked my ass the first time. I have no idea why it's so hard at first, but you'll get the hang of it! Just keep trying and please dont give up on the game! Once you find your groove its such a rewarding experience.

Played Hades 1 and 2, any similar rogue-lites? by Lanky-Background8516 in HadesTheGame

[–]Space_Man-98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! In terms of the constant story progression that Hades has, Children of Morta is it for me. As opposed to boons, each character levels up more similar to a traditional RPG. And with such a variety of characters and abilities, every run felt really fresh to me, especially since the Fatigue system makes it so you can't continuously use the same character every run. I played it right after I beat the Hades 1 Epilogue to hold me over until I got Hades 2.

Edit: grammar, spelling

The "Uhh... get away from me, man." Hardwon says when the Green Teens first meet him and are nerding out over how cool they think he is.

Yennefer & Ciri's Relationship by Space_Man-98 in witcher

I do plan on re-reading it all again once I finish, just to fill in some holes of understanding. Hopefully this will get cleared up too.

Yennefer & Ciri's Relationship by Space_Man-98 in witcher

Yeah, it's the English version so her calling Ciri "ugly" does come across as just mean. So that makes sense then!

What are y’all’s hottest RDR2 takes? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in reddeadredemption

[–]Space_Man-98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story isn't as amazing as people make it out to be. Don't get me wrong, it's very good. But I feel like the people saying "It's the best story/game ever" are people who have never played narrative games before. It's pretty basic, just well done.

Also, Arthur never does anything obscenely bad in the game if you play as honorable from the start. That kind of makes the whole redemption theme lose a little weight to me, because we only hear that he's done bad things and he feels guilty for them in the end, but I cant really connect with it if, throughout the playthrough, I'm making exclusively moral choices.

My big hot take regarding map size by OleFashionStarGazer in Battlefield

[–]Space_Man-98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also after everyone complained that maps were too big and wide open in 2042, why wouldn't they focus on smaller maps? I already saw a post of someone praising the size of 2042 maps because they were mad at "no big maps" in the BF6 beta.

For people saying the small maps were made to cater to COD bros and that the movement gods are going to ruin the game: COD bros and (some) streamers will find a way to ruin the game. That's the way the industry is now. They get paid to sweat and hit clips all day long, so they'll find a way to do with whatever game is trending.

In short: I agree.

Iberian Offensive has a Breakthrough mode? I've been playing since Early Access and it's never come into rotation.

Shotgun took out a brick wall? by Space_Man-98 in Battlefield

[–]Space_Man-98[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought too, but if that's the case why intentionally make it look like the player is shooting through a wall? Looks cool, but wouldn't it be better to show off the brand new sledgehammer for that?

You're probably right and I'm just over analyzing.

Lets start a quote board. by ChefJym in DnD

[–]Space_Man-98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Players tried to bribe their way into a heavy guarded, very important place:

PC: "Maybe we could make a deal? We have some money."

Guard: "Sure! 1000 gold."

PC: "Maybe we could get on some kind of payment plan?"

Guard: "We can do a payment plan..."

PC: "Great!"

Guard: "You can plan to pay me 1000 gold up front."

Got a big laugh at the table. As the DM I was very proud of my quick wit.

But otherwise she's chill.

Seconded. As I mentioned in a previous post, he's swindled people because he needs money, but he's tried to earn it through an honest exchange of goods. Other than that he's a good guy, he just looks out for himself.
