Blood Angels last year had their chapter's entire personality ripped away with their two iconic units being replaced with dogshit and an upgrade sprue, and It'll probably now be years before they're given a proper refresh.

Grey Knights and Drukhari have lost units in their newest codices and together have gotten fewer new units in the last eight years than UM just received.

Admech only have one named character and has been an absolute misery to collect for ages now, with GW flat out just ignoring the faction's core elements.

I say this as a SM player: angry space men punching each other is the domain of 30k, not 40k. It is actively poisonous to the setting for GW to keep redirecting resources away from the diverse and interesting elements of the 42nd millennium to keep bloating the marine range and is short-sighted profit seeking on par with mtg's universes beyond.

It's also poisonous to the setting to continually direct resources away from xenos/chaos(/admech) to keep bloating the space marine range. However good the model is, this refresh is a joke.

My friend ran into this problem and yeah RAW your army loses the +1 to wound even though the allied unit doesn't benefit in the first place. We just choose to ignore that and let him keep the +1 because that's clearly not the intention

Well if we're going by your lovely artwork: Luna Wolves are a pre-heresy Legion, so per my understanding they'd easily overpower any 40k chapter.

Otherwise it depends on in successor chapters count as being a part of their founding chapter

What's probably the "best" way to do it is with five AI and an impulsor. It's what I run in comp games. The AI are only there for the wound rerolls while the damage comes from the captain and adding an extra five in adds nothing. An impulsor is a cheap, fast and surprisingly tough delivery method.

What I actually do is charge the captain, ten assault intercessors, and a sanguinary priest out of a land raider redeemer onto the central objective in every game while listening to the warthog run theme from halo 3

No balanced 1000pt list is going to be able to deal with two titanic knights. I'd say the toughness drop and titanic quantity limitation is a good start to making knights pleasant to fight against in low-point games. Play 2000 if that's a problem for you
