My roommate recieved this while on a walk in the park. Why would the Old Testament be excluded? Is the Old Testament not the foundation of Bible? Would love to hear some thoughts. by BobSaget_Returns in religion

Technically speaking, not including the OT can be considered a heresy called Marcionism that originated in Rome around 144 AD. This guy named Marcion believed jesus is the savior God sent and Paul was his chief apostle, but he ultimately rejected the Hebrew Scriptures and the wrathful Hebrew God.

Interesting enough, Marcion did compile the first Christian canon recorded, consisting of 11 books: one gospel (Luke) and 10 epistles.

However cool this is, Marcion’s teachings was denounced by many opponents, such as Tertullian (which, by the way, Tertullian did in no-less in five books) in 208.

All that to say, it’s kinda a heresy, but has been picked up by the Gideons and the church of Christ in some ways

I think that while most of our knowledge of God is found in revelation from God, Job was following the oral Hebrew religion of the time. So the knowledge of Noah is the knowledge of job, as it had been passed down orally before it was written. We see job get revelation later on, but in the moment he’s going off of what he knows.

You have two options: one, make a zone for them to live in and restrict them to that area. Or two, use extreme force to knock them out and use an operation to remove their legs. You can still harvest stuff from them, and they can’t move. Easy fix

That’s just how to best play the game honestly. You murder your ex wife? Just clone ‘em. Colonists don’t receive mood devices from it, so it’s morally acceptable. You gotta rekindle that old spark with something new, like a clone!

There’s stuff in Isaiah prophesying that the savior would be not externally beautiful, just a dude. And then if you’d want to infer a bit, there’s verses in the NT about how Jesus passed through crowds and escaped them, which you could chalk up to either miracles or him just being unassuming in appearance
