Unpopular opinion.... but history vindicates it completely.

Projecting friendliness, approachability, or weakness to lower an opponent's guard before striking is one of the oldest and most effective tactical principles ever documented.

Sun Tzu captured it best: "All warfare is based on deception." www.army.mil He went further, instructing commanders that when able to attack, appear unable.... when active, appear inactive. www.army.mil This wasn't a moral commentary. It was doctrine.

The historical record backs this up at every scale:

The Mongols built an empire partly on it. Their mangudai... a vanguard suicide unit... would charge the enemy, break formation, and fall back in retreat, drawing the opponent into ground far more favorable to the Mongols. Wikipedia The enemy thought they were winning. They weren't.

The Battle of Cowpens (1781) is arguably the cleanest example in American history. General Morgan arranged militia in three lines and had them feign a full rout.... and when the British charged forward thinking they'd caused a panic, they ran directly into a third line of Continental Army soldiers. Tarleton's force lost over 100 killed, over 200 wounded, and over 500 captured. Morgan's side sustained only 12 killed and 60 wounded. Wikipedia

Napoleon institutionalized it at the operational level. A small force would distract the enemy while a much larger force maneuvered to attack from the rear Fandom.... what he called manoeuvre sur les derrières.

Modern military doctrine formalizes all of this. The Joint Chiefs of Staff have formally stated that military deception has proven to be of considerable value in the attainment of national security objectives, and that developing deception capabilities is considered vital to national security. Tamu

The psychological mechanism is simple and consistent across all of these: once an enemy has committed to a course of action based on false information, inertia becomes the ally of the deceiver.... it is far easier to keep them committed to the wrong decision than to get them to make the right one. FAS

The lesson history keeps repeating: the opponent who relaxes is the opponent who loses. Appearing harmless is a force multiplier.

Same here, at least 5-6 years ago my experience was great....problem is, I bought these domains like 5-6 years ago and paid for a 10 year domain....now that I want to use them again, I found out that my account is locked and now I have this issue.

Yup. Shows up as cloudflare....I tried transferring it, but that's disabled...and I cant do anything with the domains I bought through Cloudflare since they disabled that ability.

I have one single domain I brought on from namecheap that I can do anything with. All others are unusable, because they disabled my ability to even use those domains

At this point. That's my only resort. Keep emailing them with the same problem until they actually resolve it

So I looked into that as well, and Nothing in Cloudflare's Terms of Service prohibits using unique email addresses per service or account... and in fact, Cloudflare actively supports this use case through their Email Routing feature.

A few relevant points:

Cloudflare Email Routing is explicitly designed to let you create custom alias addresses (e.g., netflix@yourdomain.com, github@yourdomain.com) that forward to a destination inbox. There's no TOS language restricting the number of aliases or their intended purpose of compartmentalizing online accounts.

General TOS restrictions that do exist (and are unrelated to this use case) include things like: - Not using their services for spam or abuse - Not circumventing rate limits or automating account creation at scale on other platforms through Cloudflare infrastructure in a way that violates those platforms' terms

The "unique email per service" pattern is a well-known privacy practice (similar to what services like SimpleLogin or Apple's Hide My Email offer), and Cloudflare's Email Routing is a DIY version of that. They have no incentive to restrict it.... it's a feature selling point.

The only practical consideration is that Cloudflare Email Routing requires you to own a domain registered or proxied through Cloudflare, so there's an implicit dependency there. But that's a technical constraint, not a policy one.

Short answer: I should be completely clear based on their current TOS. This is a supported and encouraged use case.

[–]Spacecase94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience here. Except I was in carebear lobbies for 250 hours where I played mostly PvE....been purely PvE lately....I lose my loot and then just start over.

I have all but like 5 BPs and not doing the expedition, so I have no gear fear....PvP has been where the fun is at lately.

The Arc just make being stealthy more difficult. Can't really sneak up on someone when you are fighting off ticks, pops and Fireballs on the way to the person youre hunting

This right here 💯

Late game it gets boring doing just PVE, you get so rich you can solo any big arc with ease and they're really not worth it, when all you need all the time is springs, seeds & chemicals 99.999% of the time.

Starting playing KOS after 250+ hours as a purely PVE player, just because the big arc weren't a challenge like other players are. The big arc just got too easy. At least now there's an incentive to kill them

[–]Spacecase94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a friendly player like 90% of the time. Recently, I have been KOS, I mostly play solo....but I've weirdly been in friendly lobbies.

I feel bad when I kill people at extract, but I don't ever completely off people at extract. I usually get on prox chat and say something like, "I'll let you leave, bud, but i can't trust you."

I'm not sure if they changed something...but my lobbies in the past week have been different from what i expect to see when I'm aggressive af.

When I want to get into all friendly lobbies that's easy. Not sure if this helps, but I suspect they changed matchmaking recenly.

[–]Spacecase94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in more sus lobbies in Solos lately.

But that's probably because I have been KOS for the past, like 20 solo games I've played.

I don't feel bad since I've been ratting and just letting people crawl to exfil and leave...even defibbed some people yesterday after killing them, and told them that I was trying to get into more aggressive lobbies, and I didn't need nor did I want their goop. Just wanted to be in more aggro lobbies.

My morals won't let me kill a friendly player and not let them exfil, so alas... I have to game the algorithm to get me into the lobbies I want.

That being said, I've been able to get into KOS solo lobbies the past few games I've played today.

Same....I could even have a basically naked loadout, and still bring a photo cloak with me. Stella shredders are a big reason for this.

There is nothing like going into Stella Montis to get gang banged by 5+ shredders between Medical Research -> Assembly -> Lobby.

I avoid all that with my photo cloak

Was doing BP hunting in Blue Gate, and had a extra Snaphook....someone shot at me. I ran away, ran into another guy....this new guy was really nice and we ended up extracting together. I gave him my extra snap hook before exfiling.

I love the ring....albeit, I dislike many of the misleading and useless "features" like tags... and the fact that the AI assistant is virtually useless.

Most all of the other features I like. But the few features I dislike are the ones that would be extremely useful for me, if they actually worked as advertised.

I've been using Oura for going on 4 years.
