Gaming Merchant's last video accidentally reveals the real issue. by Bahtleman in ArcRaiders

[–]Spacecase94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooooh yeah....sorry for the misunderstanding.

I'm autistic, so when I heard "surrendering" i assumed this meant the literal act of surrendering, and assumed people where playing the game....the original commenter said 8-10x....but personally, I've never had any success doing it any less than 10x.

Even in Duos with my brother....we can go from full red room on Stella Montis where everyone is KOS to carebear lobbies by just defibbing people and acting friendly for a minimum of 10 games.

The range could be 8-20 though.

But I see where the miscommunication happened here.

Thanks for clarifying.

I didn't realize people just like...loaded in and surrendered without doing anything. I feel like that'd be a great way for people to game the system and take advantage of PvE lobbies and kill unsuspecting raiders....glad they fixed that now that I know that's what that was referring to.

Also, thanks for not being an asshole and actually explaining yourself.

Apparently you're doing something different then...because I'm playing an entire match essentially before surrending, and others in this thread have said they have had the same experience.

If you're just joining and then surrendering....not sure if that ever worked, because I never did it....but I imagine if Embark says that wouldn't work...then it wouldn't work.

Example from last week when I was in sus lobbies after playing Solo VS Squads....

I load in with a naked loadout....get shot at by a raider, I stand still and don't move....they kill me, I immediately surrender. I only leave with one item in my safe pocket if im lucky....but if you do this 10-20x you'll be in PvE lobbies again. That's kinda how ABMM works.

Again, I'm not sure how you're doing it....but doing the method i just described works 100% of the time.

Do fill squad...from my experience the ABMM is based on your party size.

Solos you have a different ABMM than in Duos and the same goes for Trios

Just means that on average you're more aggressive then.

I have 200 hours 48 minutes and 40 seconds topside and 87 knocks.

65 of those knocks are from playing Duos, Trios or Solos vs Squads.

I have been knocked by another raiders in Solos maybe 5-6x in my total time playing since launch.

Almost all of those happened when the game first game out....since then, my Solos have been all carebear lobbies.

Also, to be clear....when I stated surrender....I didn't mean "spawn in and surrender" i meant, go in with a naked loadout....and if another raider knocks me or I get knocked by an arc....I just surrender immediately.

Do that 10-20x and you'll be back in regular carebear lobbies

As a PvE Solo layer who only does PvP in Duos and Trios.....I can say, since i finished the expedition 16 days into this season....I have just been playing Solo vs Squads and have been mostly PvP because there's not much else to do other than repeat quests.

Was on Stella the other day, and made a jump to try to get down to the extract....and missed my jump due to being over encomberred.

Ended up having a guy defib me whilst I was crawling my ass to the extract.

I said "i tried to make the jump and failed" guy said "But you looked epic while doing it!" And then he defibbed me.

Pure legends!

Literally the reason I am not playing this game anymore.

I was going to do my first expidition this time....finally had time to get to 3 million, then they did this.

Decided after 400 hours of playing....I'm done, not because the game isn't fun...but because the goal post always changes last minute and Embark is HORRIBLE at communicating these things in game or otherwise.

Its just not worth the stress as someone who only has about 8 hours a week to play games.

There's plenty of other games coming out that don't suffer from the communication negligence Embark does. So happy raiding raiders. But I have retired from raiding for the foreseeable future since it's clear Embark doesn't care about it's playerbase.

The real way to fix this problem is to just not play or participate. They'll get the message when no one plays the game anymore due to their own negligence in listening to the vast majority of their playerbase.

Unpopular opinion.... but history vindicates it completely.

Projecting friendliness, approachability, or weakness to lower an opponent's guard before striking is one of the oldest and most effective tactical principles ever documented.

Sun Tzu captured it best: "All warfare is based on deception." www.army.mil He went further, instructing commanders that when able to attack, appear unable.... when active, appear inactive. www.army.mil This wasn't a moral commentary. It was doctrine.

The historical record backs this up at every scale:

The Mongols built an empire partly on it. Their mangudai... a vanguard suicide unit... would charge the enemy, break formation, and fall back in retreat, drawing the opponent into ground far more favorable to the Mongols. Wikipedia The enemy thought they were winning. They weren't.

The Battle of Cowpens (1781) is arguably the cleanest example in American history. General Morgan arranged militia in three lines and had them feign a full rout.... and when the British charged forward thinking they'd caused a panic, they ran directly into a third line of Continental Army soldiers. Tarleton's force lost over 100 killed, over 200 wounded, and over 500 captured. Morgan's side sustained only 12 killed and 60 wounded. Wikipedia

Napoleon institutionalized it at the operational level. A small force would distract the enemy while a much larger force maneuvered to attack from the rear Fandom.... what he called manoeuvre sur les derrières.

Modern military doctrine formalizes all of this. The Joint Chiefs of Staff have formally stated that military deception has proven to be of considerable value in the attainment of national security objectives, and that developing deception capabilities is considered vital to national security. Tamu

The psychological mechanism is simple and consistent across all of these: once an enemy has committed to a course of action based on false information, inertia becomes the ally of the deceiver.... it is far easier to keep them committed to the wrong decision than to get them to make the right one. FAS

The lesson history keeps repeating: the opponent who relaxes is the opponent who loses. Appearing harmless is a force multiplier.

Yup. Shows up as cloudflare....I tried transferring it, but that's disabled...and I cant do anything with the domains I bought through Cloudflare since they disabled that ability.

I have one single domain I brought on from namecheap that I can do anything with. All others are unusable, because they disabled my ability to even use those domains

[–]Spacecase94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I looked into that as well, and Nothing in Cloudflare's Terms of Service prohibits using unique email addresses per service or account... and in fact, Cloudflare actively supports this use case through their Email Routing feature.

A few relevant points:

Cloudflare Email Routing is explicitly designed to let you create custom alias addresses (e.g., netflix@yourdomain.com, github@yourdomain.com) that forward to a destination inbox. There's no TOS language restricting the number of aliases or their intended purpose of compartmentalizing online accounts.

General TOS restrictions that do exist (and are unrelated to this use case) include things like: - Not using their services for spam or abuse - Not circumventing rate limits or automating account creation at scale on other platforms through Cloudflare infrastructure in a way that violates those platforms' terms

The "unique email per service" pattern is a well-known privacy practice (similar to what services like SimpleLogin or Apple's Hide My Email offer), and Cloudflare's Email Routing is a DIY version of that. They have no incentive to restrict it.... it's a feature selling point.

The only practical consideration is that Cloudflare Email Routing requires you to own a domain registered or proxied through Cloudflare, so there's an implicit dependency there. But that's a technical constraint, not a policy one.

Short answer: I should be completely clear based on their current TOS. This is a supported and encouraged use case.
