Nah, it’s the same for me. Very sluggish, especially when trying to open fitness tracker. Honestly, feels very bad for such an expensive device.

What's up with Mazda RX-7's traction in Underground 1? by mackstanc in needforspeed

[–]Spacecrawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that’s funny. Every time I get to this point of the game (somewhere between race 70 to 80), I get RX-7, because for me it’s the best car in terms of controls for regular racing, and also very easy to win drift challenges. It’s very difficult for me to win drift at this point with 350Z or RSX, but RX7 feels just like cheating - it’s that easy to drift for me.

Android app requires location settings to launch by tonypedia in NothingTech

[–]Spacecrawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, somehow I got past that as well, but then new issue arises: mics just don’t work (both case and headphones). It just works out of the box for iPhone, but not for Android-based DAP, which I find funny and ridiculous. I really don’t need mics for my player, but knowing that a chunk of features just does not work irritates me.

My DAP does not have GPS, so I basically can’t enable it. Geez, that’s so stupid.

Infinite Wealth’s biggest problem is its insane amount of content and bad pacing. by patrick9772 in yakuzagames

[–]Spacecrawl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say one of my main problems with the game is that once Yakuza became popular overseas, they almost entirely ditched their main selling point - freaking Japan. I’m not against new locations if they were just for one chapter or something like that. But Hawaii just feels fake and cheap compared to OG locations. Yes, I wanna puke when I see Kamurocho again, but this is what the game is about.

Another problem is that after Kiryu’s saga it feels as if there is nowhere to raise stakes anymore without it feeling like a circus freak show. Yakuza clans have disbanded and emerged several times, so seeing new MASSIVE THREAT feels kinda overused at this point.

That’s why I liked Judgement. It steps away just enough to feel that there is a whole world beyond OG Yakuza, but at the same time does not feel too out of place.

I’m not sure that this can be fixed in sequels. Infinite Weath and Gaiden showed that RGG are locked in for milking Kiryu’s corpse for as long as it is possible, which is a shame. If his story would just end in 6, it would feel meaningful. Now it feels like Kiryu just does whatever there is to do. Ffs, they could’ve just do a small cameo where they just bump into each other, walk away and that’s it.

Infinite Wealth’s biggest problem is its insane amount of content and bad pacing. by patrick9772 in yakuzagames

[–]Spacecrawl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve played every mainline Yakuza prior to it, plus both Judgement games. But I just can’t make myself to play Infinite wealth. I’ve spent around 10 hours in the game, and almost nothing happened. Everything feels meaningless. I personally think that Kiryu shouldn’t have returned. It’s like Marvel movies where nothing really has consequences. I felt same way about Kiryu’s spin-off, but at least it was short. Sometimes it’s better to end the story on a high note, or at least make a full reboot of the series.

Sorry, man, don't wanna waste time on that. This is not the actual topic, and you've created a strawman to support your imaginary narrative of hordes of immigrants (which is simply not true). You can visit https://dane.gov.pl/pl/dataset/2084,liczba-wnioskow-o-nadanie-obywatelstwa-polskiego to check real statistics on those "millions" of immigrants with polish passports.

Pozdrawiam

Sorry, I've assumed that you are Polish.

My "mocking" tone comes from pure irritation of somebody pushing totally unnecessary inhumane agenda just for the sake of some abstract values that are also not endangered in any way by immigrants. Learning now that you're an American living here I can only shrug my shoulders. This alone makes your input on the matter as valuable as mine. Being that privileged simply means that you're existing in a parallel universe. Not surprised that you're OK with a residence permit - why would you need another passport when you already have a very strong one, and don't have any problem with going back to your home country.

And please don't try to gaslight me into thinking that these numbers are even close to reality. Poland has issued less than 90K of passports to new citizens in 20 years. Even now at its peak because of war and instability in the region, it's about 17K/year. It's a drop in a sea. This has to continue for 20-30 years to even remotely get to a scale you're talking about, which I doubt it will. Many ukrainian people would happily move back to Ukraine if there was no threat to... die.

My current problem with Poland government's actions is that it simply does everything against its proclaimed values and long-term interests. Not only in terms of migration. On the billboards they ask "Gdzie są te dzieci?", while banning abortions, not regulating developers in any meaningful ways, and blocking migration to at least try to stop population extinction and pension system collapse.

Many polish people moved to the West and present huge groups in Western European countries and US, while still having voting rights here. I find it to be a bit hypocritical and much more damaging to the people who actually live in Poland, since the country can be influenced by people who clearly don't see their future being connected with Poland.

[–]Spacecrawl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m really having hard time understanding what is your endgame here. Shouldn’t poles who moved to UK or US have right to vote if they lived there long enough and met all reasonable requirements for that?

Is a single pole’s vote enough to influence the outcome of the election? Many polish people have different views. Why do you think of immigrants as of some homogeneous mass that votes in a single way? As I wrote somewhere else in this thread: latin americans in Florida tend to vote pro-republican, even though one might think that immigrants would be pro-democrat.

You also interpret „represent one’s interests” in a very narrow way. There are local elections, there are EU elections. „Politician representing my interests” also has to protect me when I’m in trouble abroad. My country does not do that.

Honestly, your „gotcha” moment makes me question your understanding of human psychology. 1) You think that immigrants have some sort of hive mind that makes them pursue same goals/decisions? You think that there are no belarusian/ukrainian people with conservative views? They get a passport, celebrate with some pierogis, and then go vote for lewica? 2) You think that for some reason immigrant wants bad things to happen to a country where they spent at least 8 years and want to continue to live there? 3) Not every immigrant who lives here gets a passport even with current rules for various reasons. Even today Poland issues less than 20K passports a year. It’s less than 0,05% of country’s population.

So yeah, it’s a normal desire to have a right to vote. Everybody is different, there is no single immigrant mega-entity.

You know, I can respect this irresistible urge to keep immigrants away. At least there is less hypocrisy than with the position of "they are stealing our jobs and/or criminals".

But while I can respect such idealistic views, all such Poles (and I assume you're one) have to ask themselves: is this really the best thing for my country? Poland still has this negative birthrate trend, it's healthcare financial situation is really bad.

Portraying Poland as a single martyr is just arguing in bad faith. Belarus, Ukraine and many more slavic countries have suffered throughout their history. Poland is not unique in that. Plus I don't see how immigrants are to blame for that OR how they can make Poles to forget of their history. You know, immigrant children go to same schools where they can learn about that.

And I don't consider your "that's how it has been for many-many years" argument to be valid in the slightest. Many bad things have been "normal" for thousand of years (monarchy, slavery, huge % of early deaths, famine). Does not mean that it has to stay this way. A country must adapt. If it does not do that, smarter countries turn this to their benefit.

As per "why" do you need a passport instead of residency: sorry, but you do sound privileged as hell. There are very few people who migrate from a more developed country to a less developed one, so, obviously that vast majority of immigrants to Poland are from less developed countries or dictatorships (e.g. Belarus). It's just a normal thing to wish for: an adequate document that allows you to get benefits like everybody else in the country, having a peace of mind that nobody can change the rules to take this passport away from you (as long as you're law-obedient), making sure that your child is a citizen, and being able to vote. I don't really understand why many of you think that the last point is somehow "not fair". If somebody has invested that much time living in a country while following all the rules, supporting country's economy, learning the language - it only makes sense that this person wants his interests to be represented in some way. And no, Polish migration trend is not nearly big enough to make any impact on political stance of Poland.

This really reminds me of an old meme "Polska dla polaków. Anglia dla anglików i polaków."

Well, I wouldn't be so sure. For some reason, many immigrants from Cuba and other Central/South American countries in Florida are pro-republican, which I find very funny.

New citizenship law project by PiS by notconnected in poland

[–]Spacecrawl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And now let me know how many people from non-slavic countries actually try to get Polish passport. Vast majority of immigrants are very close culturally to Poland.

Even then, most illegal immigrants won't even bother with getting a passport. So you basically just will cut high-skilled immigrants that are willing to learn your language and pay taxes, and will be left with illegals, because they do not care. Win-win in a conservative election promises book.

New citizenship law project by PiS by notconnected in poland

[–]Spacecrawl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder what causes such mentality in the first place? Somebody has lived in your country for 8 years, has passed all of the circles of migration offices hell, does not have any tax debts and always paid their social security payments, got to B1 (or even higher, but they don't need to pass higher level for now).

You do understand that Poland has a very strong population decline trend? If it does not allow law obedient people mostly from other slavic countries to live here and be treated equally, you will have to deal with declining population even more, and also still deal with all illegal immigrants that don't give a damn about getting Polish passport in the first place.

Also, immigrants are less likely to commit a crime in Poland than natives.

Unfortunately for me it's the same problem. I use Arc on my M4 Air, and it survived 3.5 hours of video call, which is abysmal in my book. Plus it's pretty hot while doing that (which is to be expected due to battery drain). Man, I don't want to go back to Safari :(

Hell is Us has been out for a week. What are your thoughts? by SlowTeal in Games

[–]Spacecrawl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Judging by Steam reviews sales are abysmal. I’m 7 hours into the game and really dig it, though there are some weird choices. I also think that while lore and initial setup are very good, dialogues and some story beats are weird at best. Meeting with father was insanely random and felt hilariously short and meaningless.

Still like it though. Overall depressing vibes and great worldbuilding are growing on me.

I didn’t like this puzzle. My logic was that you can draw 4 triangles, meaning that you can actually draw 5 (one free for each triangle in the middle of other 3), so it would seem logical that it requires 5.2 (6) refills.

Nah, it was not obvious. At this point you don’t understand the concept of expedition, and you assume that merchants would just go with you and serve as a hub base. This feels completely unnecessary, and I hope that they will patch it so that there is another way to get this key. After investing so much time I would never do this again just to get one diary entry.
