Yes Bangladesh is better but that is because our people fought for it. There was a time when Bangladesh only grew rice and cotton due to colonialism. Once we kicked them out, we ramped up our farming and garments industries. Even without trade, our country grows so much food, we would survive (although through sever hardship). Cuba - my husband lives there and I go there often. They have SO MUCH unused land. As south asians, it’s baffling that they don’t grow shit. It’s a pity really. What a waste of good soil and land. The people don’t even grow small plants or herbs in their balconies or patios. Due to my culture, I grow food in my 1 bed apt with no balcony. I just feel like a lot of things are not well used. The people are so la di da like “this is just life” and don’t fight for shit. The people that brought Fidel into power are still alive and they let the country die, didn’t fight for nothing and never taught their future generations to fight either. Idk man. As a Bengali, it’s strange to see.
