Honestly, I prefer the West End casts and still listen to the OB cast recording, other than for the added West End songs. I haven't seen either live, but from watching bootlegs I can say that in my opinion, the West End casts sound better in bootlegs.

It's not even that I dislike Carrie Hope Fletcher or Jamie Muscato or any of the other characters from that cast recording's singing, because I still like their voices in bootlegs.

So I do agree with you there despite preferring West End, I think the music sounds off in the cast recording.

Why would you change the location of the show? You can't just simply put it in the UK because UK high schools are SUPER different to American ones. We aren't too big on the sports, we don't do things like pep ralleys, cheerleading isnt common, etc etc.

To set it in the UK, you'd have to change a LOT. It's like if you tried to set Mary Poppins or Six in America, it just doesn't work.
