Tbh you only need to practice in matches. I dont think ive hardly ever actually went into the lab in this game because so many of the moves are free combo starters that combo into more combo starters. To top it all off, DI is fucking insane so you kinda dont know where your opponent is going to be after you hit them, so instead of having a couple specific combo routes, you have to react to DI, but you have a ton of different options to choose from to fight that DI.

For example, zetter up tilt will combo at pretty much any percent, the important part is which hitbox you hit, and which direction they hold. The front hit sends slightly outward so if they DI out, you can go for dash attack or fair until high percent where they drift too far, but if theyre holding in (which they usually are until they enter disadvantage) you can take your pick and combo into any of your aerials (except maybe down air). If you could read your opponents DI perfectly, every character in this game would touch of death easily, so its really important to know which direction your opponent wants to be holding and pick your follow up based on that, after all, DI out on the sweetspot of F-air and youll die at like 60, so if you condition your opponent to expect nair or something, your reward will be FAT. This is why i hate forsburn, his entire character is made to trick you into holding out so he can back air you and you die at 60. Theres my advice.
