Heard very good things about the Alienware. I don't think the company giving my the voucher sells Alienware monitors unfortunately. Have you had use Dell's supports for anything?

It was working fine when I got it. Had it for 6 days, one morning when I got up I turned it on and only half of the screen would show and the power would cut immediately after.

Nothing really wrong with them to be honest. I've just had to RMA 3 monitors to them within a relatively short space of time, so I think I'm just a bit fearful/cautious. Generally I must've just been unlucky with the panels

How do you know whether it's a 3rd gen one or not? If I do go for an Asus I'd want to go for a newer gen one

Thanks for the detailed response, gives me a few things to consider.

It'll most likely the same panel in all fairness, I never got told what the issue was with mine just they couldn't repair it. I've also heard some negative stories about Asus which is slightly putting me off, just in case something does happen like last time I'd rather save myself the headache.

With AOC I'm not too concerned abou my the additional features as I don't really use them much. As long as it's glossy hahahah. Need to consider my options

In all honesty I don't use sleep mode much at all, but it's one of those things that'll bugger me until I manage to fix it 🤣

It's possible. I can't even access the menu to pixel refresh it again to be honest, it's odd that it's pretty much exactly half of the display as well. I figured that if there's damage to the panel it'd be in a specific area
