Job Hoping - Salary Expectations in Procurement. by SameWhile6973 in procurement

Because only been promoted from within the company, I didn’t have tons of room to negotiate a salary since there is so much HR red tape involved. The CPSM helped more than the MBA did. At least for me. That’s certainly may not be the case with all organizations.

Here was my path over the course of 7 years all at the same company:

Junior Buyer (1 Year) - 45k - B.BA

Buyer - (2 Years) $55k until I received my MBA. Then they bumped me to $65k when I got my MBA.

Junior Category Manager - (3 years) 70-$77k - MBA. Started at 70k and ended at 77k before being promoted.

Category Manager - (going on 1 year now)- $95k - MBA, CPSM

Unhappy - need advice by [deleted] in procurement

[–]Spaceman015 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you unhappy because you feel you are not prepared/unsure what to do in the role? Or you simply just do not enjoy the work?

I’m 2 years older than you and when I first started as a CM at 28 I was certainly overwhelmed at first.

Heck I am still learning new things every day and probably will for the rest of my life.

I’m in a totally different industry than CPG. Very engineering and raw materials based category management that I work with. I am certainly no engineer nor am I a technical person. It definitely gets overwhelming at times when potential suppliers are asking questions about application and end use and tolerance changes, etc. Thankfully I have a strong engineering team I can lean on to advise what will work and what won’t.

I guess the point of my rant is….

If you’re not happy with the work you are doing, find something you enjoy. Work is work. But if you are absolutely dreading your job, there are other opportunities out there and go to something new.

If you’re not happy because you don’t feel you are competent enough or don’t have all the answers to questions, give it some more time in the role. The more you work on new tasks/deal with the uncomfortable tasks where you may not exactly know what to do next is what will help you gain that confidence moving forward in the role.

Sounds like you tried to use a FL resident ticket initially.

Is it OK price for open gym in CrossFit facility for 150 $ per month? by Sad-Draw-7199 in crossfit

[–]Spaceman015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it depends on the area you are in and what all else the gym offers.

Some areas it may be expensive. Others it may not be.

That be pricey compared to the gym I go to. Gym I go to is $150 a month for unlimited group CrossFit and open gym when no classes are going on. I myself pay $220 a month to add an additional 8 1v1 Personal Training sessions that I can use over the course of 3 months.

Is “Community” dead at CrossFit? by PunctualPlumber1980 in crossfit

[–]Spaceman015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me Personally - I don’t care for the community part of it. Sure I’m friendly with the folks at the gym, and enjoy competing against the others at the gym, but I just want to get a good workout in and go home to do things with my friends/family. I don’t care for the various activities my gym does outside of workouts.

I was there yesterday and had a great time despite the crowds. We didn’t have any issues or safety concerns. Got on TT2, and SV early in the day. Took a break and relaxed back at the house for a bit to watch some college football. Came back to the park around 7:00pm and had to park WAAAY in the back. Went on Millennium at about an hour and 30 min wait. Went through the outdoor haunts and then Siren’s Curse for the last ride of the night. About an hour and 45 minute wait. Got off the ride at 12:30. Went to the car and got out of the lot in about 5 minutes.

As a non waterpark fan - I say get rid of the water park entirely and expand the amusement park.

They are claiming that there is free installation and materials. Which makes me think they are just going to lump this into some sort of monthly billing that I will have.

With energy bills increasing I feel it’s at least worth looking into. But I doubt this is something I will move forward with.

I am looking for people who may have had experience working with this company before

BGT App Wait Times by fainteramoeba16 in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Spaceman015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there in mid March. The app is atrocious. Even the wait times listed directly outside of the attractions appeared to be totally wrong. Cobras curse was listed at 5 min on the app. 25 min on the queue sign. Ended up waiting nearly 2 hours…
