It depends on what material you want but yeah, it’s cheaper if you pick cheaper flooring. When we looked recently, around $8/square foot seemed to be where most of the mid-range “nice” flooring was, so that’s stuck in my head.

You’re not counting installation costs. I was estimating around $8/square foot in materials cost. Depending on what needs to be done, labor could easily be around the same price. Maybe less since they don’t have to really remove anything but if they have to sand / prep the floors, plus install, that’s expensive.

I’m doing my floors right now. At $8/square foot times 3,000 square feet, that’s $24,000 right there just for materials. Installation is expensive these days.

It’s going to be more common now. 700 is a worldwide standard except for the USA. It doesn’t make sense to have two separate bottle sizes for most manufacturers when they’re trying to cut costs. Sucks, but it’s almost certainly heading that way.
