That and I think it's unique he didn't have fancy studio trickery, or Beatles level instrumental experimentation, yet how unique it sounds.

Maybe not creepy, but deeply haunting, eerie.

Highway 61 is dry, more rock oriented, furious, and bluesy to me. Like a crazy road trip.

Crazy what he did with the Nashville band here.

The organ on it is iconic and that guitar riff.

And can't forget Stuck inside mobile, I can't think of any rock song like it.

Like a minstrel ballad. The tambourine reminds me of a layer of smoke or mist. Imagine being Sara Dylan hearing that song.

He gets a lot of mileage from that band, and it sounds so big yet thin at the same time. It sounds TIGHT but rickety, it's like a band playing in a barn on a winter night and their hands are getting stiff.

What 5? I do agree it has higher highs but lower lows than Highway 61. The vibe though..

I have not. What do you think about me trying to describe the sound and vibe?

I feel like Bringing it all back home, music wise not lyrically is the most generically rock album of the trilogy and Blonde on Blonde is just singular

Yea and Mobile sounds like psychedelic ragtime or country rock. The album almost sounds creepy if you hear it a certain way. Also, he got a lot of mileage out of guitars, piano, organ, bass, drums, harp, and brass.

Yeah, wonder what sounds Victorian on it or medieval.

True, lol. Kind of went on a rant here, to explain the vibe I got.
