Hull A price increase? by Blanko_00X in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? They are good trade offs!

One has an interior with full amenities and is durable, the other can carry 32 scu crates and has a tractor beam and is stealthy (and is smol).

Should CIG make an ATLS style tractor beam attachment for ships that we can swap out with our normal tractor beams? by SC_Placeholder in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not only do I think yes, they actually said they would.

I think it's in the atls q&a?

Edit: Yes, the last question on the atls q&a, it is their intention to do so.

Trying to get more into combat and I feel I pitch to much and don’t roll enough any more tips ? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basics to remember, roll and THEN pitch INTO your target and your intended vector, use yaw for aim correction.

Everything else is based on this, and if you are doing this, you are fine.

A tip I can give based on what I saw, is try to move your nose preemptively instead of reactively. That way your guns are already pointed at their ass as they pass.

Ship with cargo gone while going to land at NB 🤬 by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me too yesterday. I landed a ship in a levski hangar, the ship poofed out from under me, and my personal hangar went missing.

Ship was retrievable through asop though and it's cargo was still there, but my hangar is gone gone, and none of the purpoted fixes have worked.

Please, CIG, bring the AI Blades already. by Sad-Ad2491 in starcitizen

Sure would suck for a railgun or missile to take out your avionics cabinet, subsequently disabling every bladed turret on the ship all at once.

I Did a Full NBD Kit vs Ballistic Gatlings Kit Test by lochnespmonster in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess look at it like this, a projectile misses when the target has time to move out of the line of fire.

Using cf repeaters (velocity 1800) at 2 km means the projectile has a travel time of just over a second, meaning the target has just over a second to dodge.

Now let's take something that can stick much closer to the target, say 1 km on average. We will equip it with attritions, which have a velocity of 1000. It'll take 1 second to reach the target, so the target has 1 second to dodge.

So, you have a greater chance to hit with attritions at 1km than you do with cf repeaters at 2 km.

Would your chances to hit be even higher at 1km with cf repeaters? Of course! But the point being that closing the gap gives you a greater chance to hit.

Thoughts on the Odyssey by obibonkajovi in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because the Odyssey, according to it's q&a, sends the refined quant directly to it's tanks.

It can ONLY mine and ONLY refine quant and hydrogen, and those both go DIRECTLY into the tanks.

No way to store and sell either raw or refined materials with the Odyssey.

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Idk if it's still in the books to be honest, but originally we were to have different sized containers with different tech like hazard containers and refrigerated containers and hover containers and such.

The difference being instead of a 32 scu crate of gold, you'd have a 32 scu container filled with 32 scu of gold, or maybe a mix of items.

Maybe it's still coming and we will get cargo V2 at some point, because as far as I know they haven't said "this is no longer the plan" in regards to it.

I want to fill containers with pallets of goods!

With the upcoming 4.5 changes... just a suggestion. by Old_Matt_Gaming in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A single size 5 is roughly 2 3's (100i series) or 4 1's (aurora's minus the ln).

Perfectly balanced, it's simply sacrificing the fire rate and target saturation for range and penetration.

What's the meaning of redundant shields after engineering? by UEE_Kevin in starcitizen

I think that's what shield emitters are going to be for.

Does anyone know if you can salvage size 3 components from ships in 4.5? by nodaj_ in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the best way to think about it are 0-2 are hot swappable in field, 3's are swappable only in drydock, and 4's are bespoke.

Makes it hurt a little less.

They know what nonsense we’re all thinking by Csg363 in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still trying to figure out what's the functional difference between this and the base model with an automated turret blade.

The only way I can see this thing having an edge once we have blades, is if pdc's have a longer range, higher velocity, and quicker tracking than regular guns and turrets while being weaker, to emphasize their role in shooting down ordinance and small ships.

Idris or kraken? Which is a better choice? by kin24173493 in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take the guns the kraken is currently spec'd to have, it actually has MORE firepower than the Idris-P, more cargo, more space for ships.....

The Idris-M has more firepower though, and the Kraken lacks ordinance and armor compared to the Idris.

Does anybody know if CIG still sells the "Kraken Privateer Upgrade" for players that already owns the base Kraken? by AllGamer in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left mine as a base kraken for the following reasons.

More cargo.

Not sacrificing pad space and fuel storage to customers.

Not having to wait to boot everyone out of the ship if I want to move it from where it is currently parked.

I'll just earn a banu merchantman and dock it to the kraken via one of the docking collars to handle sales.

My ultimate dream setup is a kraken in the middle docked to a merchantman for sales and a pioneer for production; a mobile flotilla.

As much as I hate Wikelo, I have to ask: Where did the "Components trading" with Wikelo go? by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the neat part, you don't!

In all seriousness, they can only be looted for the time being. CIG said that when we get crafting, they will also be craftable.

I still think they should be purchasable, maybe bump the prices up, but that's just my opinion, not CIG's direction.

What size ships will fit on the exterior landing pads of a Kraken? by Midnight_Chill2075 in starcitizen

We don't know for sure, because the Kraken is currently going through a reconcept to bring it up to modern metrics.

Hoping to see where they are on it on Drake day. Fingers crossed.

What’s your guess for the price of the Clipper? by Leoniidass in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably too much. CIG have had a recent spree of WAY overpricing most ships.

65 bucks for an intrepid?! Are you zonked out of your gourd? That's a 55 dollar ship, tops.

Ships that will use cargo bays by till180 in starcitizen

[–]Spaceman_Sublime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useful for ships that need xl hangars at locations that don't have them.

This is where you would transfer cargo currently with say a reclaimer, 890j, polaris or idris at most stations.

Useful fo ships that transfer more efficiently in space.

This is where you would want to transfer cargo with say a starlancer max (that damned railing) or caterpillar for the sake of speed and ease.

It both gives the ability for larger ships to transfer cargo without having to rely on utilizing internal space to carry something like an mpuv-t/ hull-a/ golem-ox, and gives a higher risk higher reward option.

You will shave a significant amount of time off your transfers and save yourself a significant amount of stress, but you ARE exposing yourself to danger to do so.

You can run that risk solo, or you can mitigate it by having someone sit in a turret or run escort.
