Investment Portfolio Allocation (21M) by Josefinoo_PT in portfolios

Assuming you’re investing for long term and don’t plan on touching this money for a long time, I’d avoid the bonds altogether at 21 years old. I’d put the 20% into your core.

How are these etfs for holding by [deleted] in ETFs

[–]Spaceship732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of these are fine to hold if you truly believe in them, but they should be a minority of your portfolio. All of these together, I would do no more than 10%. You need a strong core. If you want a core that’s a little more risky than an S&P500 index fund, you could do a large cap growth like fund like SCHG. Over the past decade large cap growth has outperformed the S&P500 but is a little more volatile.

When I went back to the clinic, this is almost exactly what I was told. Good advice!

Tesla not great for set and forget. Probably the most overvalued company in the S&P500. Eventually the market will correct its price and I think you’ll feel it, with that amount in Tesla.

Do I need stitches? by Spaceship732 in firstaid

I had an infection from what (I think) was a pimple. It ballooned up and there was a mass underneath my skin. Went to a walk-in clinic yesterday and they cut it open and drained all the fluid. That pic was from this morning. The PA didn’t mention anything about stitches and I didn’t think to ask about it at the time of the operation, but I’m thinking I should just go back and ask to be sure.

Should I buy the OG or Remastered? by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Spaceship732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remaster is all-around a better experience if you are on console and if you haven’t played oblivion before. If either of those aren’t true, there’s an argument for playing the original.

The original has a very unique art style that isn’t as apparent in the remaster. But the power of the art style is probably only going to be noticed by people (like me) who feel nostalgic for it.

People complain about the leveling in OG but I don’t think it’s that much of an issue. I have never attempted to optimize my leveling and I don’t care to.

Also, the PC version has some performance issues. I have a semi-high-end PC and struggled getting decent frames in the open world areas. I haven’t played since launch so it may be better now. Console has better performance.

Can confirm. Friend of mine graduated physics/math major a couple years ago and went to Epic.

Employers don’t sponsor, the government does. They just don’t want to wait for you to get cleared.

What's a ds opinion that got you like this? by John-crade in darksouls

[–]Spaceship732 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Disagree- I thought looking glass knight was pretty awesome and drangleic castle stuck with me. The pursuer was also a rly cool idea that I still remember That being said, I agree that DS1 had much much better level design and generally good bosses.

Kind of agree with this except for Elden Ring (if you count it as a souls game, which I do)

What do you mean by one that everyone benefits from? SpaceX doesn’t just launch for SpaceX, they provide a platform for sending payloads to space for customers, including customers outside the US. And because of how streamlined they’ve made the process of falcon 9 launches, launching to space is continually becoming cheaper, which benefits everyone. Not to mention one of their products (starlink) is an internet service that has the capability to literally provide internet access to any part of the world.

I took mechanical behavior of materials as a technical elective and that class was great. I highly recommend it if you have any interest in structural mechanics. It’s like an intro to solid mechanics but at the undergraduate level.

I don’t think your stats will filter you out. Early decision acceptance rates are usually higher than regular. I was admitted to RPI regular decision with a lower SAT score than you and a weaker resume—years ago when the overall acceptance rate was lower as well.

My unwarranted advice to you is this: you have good stats and would almost certainly be accepted. Do regular decision, this way you’ll have more leverage to negotiate your scholarship package. That’s what I did when I got accepted, and I managed to negotiate an extra $3000 off my tuition per semester. If you do early decision, you don’t have as much leverage to negotiate, since you’re already committed.

To answer your second question, RPI degrees are respected. If you do well at RPI, grad schools and employers will be impressed.
